I thought these days were over in the UK

    I was watching the match from down the road Saturday morning [yes, I know, but it was live fitba from England], and I was disturbed to see that some things I thought had changed, evidently haven't.
    Twice in the first 15 minutes, two United players had bananas thrown at them by the lovely blue-clad liberal fans. First Ferdinand, and then Silvestre.
    The announcers said nothing, even as Giggs flipped a banana away to take the corner, and there was nothing in the write-ups.
    Disgusting. Time to grow up.
