I'm glad the decision was made now, so he can start evaluating already tomorrow and can start to plan for the January transfer window.

Good. Sounds like he has some very relevant experience dealing with underachievers and making them realize their potential.

Sounds like what the doctor ordered. And if we get to Europe, by some means, he's Continental.

    Me, happy.

If we win each of our remaining 19 matches, we'll finish with 71 points, which was enough to qualify for the Champions League from the EPL last season, so yes, I suppose that's still a possibility. 8)

I don't think many had Hodgson on their radar for the new manager of Fulham. To be honest, I am not sure how this is going to work out and I am hoping for the best. He led the Swiss to the 94 world cup and then to the 96 euro. Those achievements deserve praise.

As mentioned above, hopefully he can build confidence in the squad which has been lacking the entire season. Please oh please lets get three points tomorrow.

    Roy Hodgson Appointed

With the appointment of Roy Hodgson, Fulham has an experienced Manager that has managed in Serie A, the Premiership and on the international stage. He put Switzerland in the 1994 World Cup with not a lot of talent (based on my fading memory). He will play more of a passing game. I did not think that we would be able to attract this type of manager who could help us in the transfer window and long term in picking up international talent. He starts two days before the Chelsea match and will get a chance to watch the Birmingham match before taking over. Best of luck, Roy.

I never know what stock to put into international versus club coaching experience. On the one hand, we have first hand experience with a coach who turned a Northern Ireland team around and made them competitive internationally. But, his first stint at the prem club level tanked. On the other hand, a guy like Sven has a marginal national team record but has done very well at the club level. Hodgson seems to have decent success on both fronts and he's experienced. I hope against hope that that is enough to see us through to another Premiership season.

    Come on Roy!
    Come on you whites!

BC. Wow! You consider 3 quarterfinal appearances for the national team, including 2 that went to penalties, a marginal record?

All I can say is "Save us from relegation" and your be my hero Mr Hodgson.

GOOD LUCK Cos your going to need LOADS of it?

The way this present team is playing we are doomed to the Championship and I'm sorry to say that but having watched the last few games we are a poor side and only poor teams go down. prove me wrong and I'll be the first to hail you.

I'm pretty excited about Hodgson. His continental experience should help us quite a bit in the transfer market, so hopefully he can do for us what Sven-Göran Eriksson did for Man City.

I was looking at some Blackburn forums earlier, their fans seem to have plenty of good things to say about him and think he'll do well for us. That's always a good sign.

I'm relieved at the choice; I thought Collins would have been a mistake. MAF really seems commited and that is important. Fulham did not look like a team that would be relegated earlier this season and hopefully Hodgson knows how to get the team back to that with a key new ingredient come the transfer window.
