It is very nice for Healy and I congratulate him.

However, who in their right mind believes that he should get such an honour when Johnny Haynes received nothing!

This is probably the most disgusting example of the stupidity of those in charge of the system in its history.

A generation of FFC supporters will undoubtedly share with me this reminder of the regret and sorrow that The Maestro was not properly recognised and honoured by Her Majesty.

Haynes, in terms of honors, was the victim of his time and Fulham's circumstances as a club for much of his career.

Healy benefits from modern football exposure on television, his excellent international play, and the positive impact Norn' Iron's performances have had on a changing community.

If Haynes had played in these years when football is not simply "match of the day" but a few matches a day on television, then he certainly would've gotten the honors coming to him. He's one of those players who just fell through the cracks because he was a talisman for a club that spent many years outside the First Division. He was very similar to a Billy Liddell at Liverpool in that respect.
