Skip the first part of this -- it's about Wayne [what's that box with the strings all in it?] Routledge -- but read the second.

It must really be tough to be an American goalie and transfer to Europe with this 75% of the matches stuff. Love to see the lad over here. I think he's class.

I would love to see him in the Priemership too but wonder if Villa is a good fit. Unless Villa do not intend to pursue Carson they seem to already have a good young goalie.

I agree totally. And he'd be in the Champions League.

Scott Carson is apparently rated around £10 million, and I don't think there's any chance that Lerner, MON, and co. would actually splash that kind of money on him.

So I think placing in a bid for Guzan was the most "logical" move for them, even though it might mean that the Hoops will miss out on him.

Please oh please don't go to Celtic and play 90% of your games against inferior competition to MLS. Sure Champions league is nice to get to play in but that's only a few matches, the rest of the season would be against Real Salt Lake caliber players.

Hey...stop it! I'm a huge Real Suck Lake fan. Can't we compare them to a USL team...oh wait..that's where we should be playing

Thank you for reminding me why I don't post on this site. You can disagree with my opinion, that's perfectly fine, but I won't argue with someone who is clearly ignorant on the subject of either the quality of the SPL (minus Rangers and Celtic) or MLS. Adding to the fact you judge an opinion based on the number time a person can click a submit button just provides further proof that I'm not going to waste any further time.

Actually didn't think I strayed too far from cpenn's approach on the matter.

Don't go all soft on us, cpenn. Perhaps pointing out your number of posts was cyber insensitive, but the rest of the post I stand by, and was perfectly in line with your original post on the matter.

Anyone who has been on this site for awhile knows the MSL is one of my favorite targets, regardless of how much Wynalda tried to convince me I should care about it more.

We like to hear from everyone, and we're known as one of the 'friendliest' footy sites there is. On any site, you're going to find some chain yanker and we're no different.

But you can't take things personal, like that. It's not meant as malice.

Suggest you ignore the 'Golden Lion' section, though.

And, as I alluded to, it was indeed the percentage of caps available that did the lad in. With the WC coming it's not going to get better. It's a shame, but rules is rules.

You would think the Home Office could apply some intellegence to their decision and realize that when a country already has 3 goalies in the EPL it's going to be hard to get caps with that country.

I guess the Home Office doesnt want to deny an English keeper a job - since they have so many good ones.

Agreed Cpenn don't go all soft so easy. PCB just likes to mix it up and grind with anyone about anything but especially MLS. Much to his delight he's wiggled under my skin on the subject quite a few times before. He's got blind hatred for the league and it appears he will always find a way to keep that intact. I've got a theory that says he wishes he was Irish, and has a complex about the fact that he's not. Why else would someone support Celtic and be so boisterous about it at that??? Anyhow he's not bad, pretty good actually, so don't be a wimp about it eh.

btw Guzan has been waaaaaaaaaaaaaay overrated since day one.

Celtic is Scottish. And I don't hate MLS as much as probably care about it too much, so I don't get involved (???).

But besides that, Spencer is pretty spot on.

Guzan will probably end up cashing in over the summer, and for much more money.
