    I was kind of expecting someone to post something about 911. Maybe I missed it or maybe there's a moratorium about this on here ( my 1 yr FulhamUSA anniversary is in two days); I dont know. Apologize if I'm ignorant of FUSA tradition on this.

    I find it impossible not to remember on this day. I was vacationing on the NC outer banks and watching the news that morning so I saw everything as it developed. As the buildings went down all I could think about was the firefighters and other rescuers going down with everyone they were trying to help. There are no words to express what happened that day. I will never forget and never stop appreciating the firefighters, police officers, EMS workers, and US military personel that serve us all. You are the best.

    Nice thoughts Mo. I think this is perfectly appropriate time and forum to remember. This was, best I can capture, most similiar to the Kennedy assasination for a previous generation, I would guess, in that I think we will all remember where we were when it happened or more to the point where we were when we first heard of it. I can still remember being at work in Redwood Shores, I remember the the people I was with, watching the final planes coming into SFO from the Pacific being escorted by F15's (least I think they were F15's). I remember talking to my team about not making any calls to any of our customers out of respect for what had just happened. We just shut down, and hung out at the offce, watching TV coverage in our conference room. None of us sure what it all meant, and why it happened, what to say to each other. My boss was a more than casual acquaintance with Todd Beamer who's favorite line was 'let's roll', he was well known at Oracle for this saying.

    I agree with you, we should never forget this happened to us and never forget the courage and selflessness of Americans who gave their lives, to save others. I sometimes worry that people are beginning to forget what happened and why.

    Thanks for the post.

    I spent a couple of hours earlier this evening biking around my neighborhood and taking pictures of the city and the columns of light from various locations. Once I've had a chance to go through them, I'll share the good ones.

    Good for you... put em up on a sharing site like photobucket.

    {and guys... this is YOUR forum. I'm only the mod. I'm trying to convince you all to post more original threads yourself. Not just respond to mine.}

    Mo I could not have said it any better. I will never forget sitting in my office watching the towers fall on the little TV I kept there for late nights and weekend work. All of the police officers and emergency workers of any nature who put themselves in harms way deserve to be remembered with honor along with all of the innocent bystanders and family members who still suffer the effects today.

    Great thread Mo.

    For me, there is no better remembrance than to review the amazing life of Rick Rescorla, TWICE an American Hero.. And born in Wales.

    Todd Beemer's "Let's Roll!" is the iconic meme of 9/11.

    Rick Rescorla is the person whose life we should all admire.
