Goal of the Year

I missed this last week, but NBC voted Kasami's strike against Crystal Palace as the goal of the year: http://prosoccertalk.nbcsports.com/2014 ... -the-year/

I have mixed feelings about this goal, because while it was amazing, it is also a reminder of when it all went downhill. After winning that game in impressive fashion and making it two wins in a row I felt that it was clear that Fulham was not relegation bound like Palace. Yet just the opposite happened. Fulham didn't put two wins together again until April - while Palace, after hitting bottom two weeks later, then started their steady climb to the middle of the table. This goal is just a clear marker, for me, of last time Fulham didn't seem like a team headed for a relegation fight.

Hopefully these two goals from the youngins are a positive sign of the future, but right now I'm fearing the double drop. http://www.fulhamfc.com/news/2014/may/1 ... the-season

 

Kasami is an enigma, I thought he took a step forward in his development, but fizzled the second half of the year. That said, the goal was a thing of beauty.
