    Okay, I am now taking submissions for the funniest names to hear a British commentator pronounce...that is player names, not team names.

    My friends and I often choose our teams on FIFA based on what names we want to hear screamed out after we attempt a shot on goal.

    My top five are:

    5. Niko Kranjcar

    4. Benjani Mwaruwari

    3. Didier Drogba

    2. Papa Bouba Diop

    1. Dimitar Berbatov

    Here's what I don't understand: the announcers pronounce the last name of Arsenal's Rosicky exactly the same as they did Fulham's Radzinski.

    Oh, and if you'd like to traipse up to the SPL, try on Jan Vennegor vom Hesselrink for size! :shock:

    My two faves are:
    - Kishishev;
    - Hitzlsperger.

    Personally, I always enjoyed hearing Andreas Cantor and his rolling "R's ". He even made a name like "Brown" sound exciting.

    Dan Shittu is a oldie but a goodie. A good name to type in order to find out if your chatroom/blog has a net nanny. Just wonder if someone has a training ground bust up with him they say "Piss off, Shittu!" -- nothing like a double command

    HDL; you beat me to the punch with the winning name! Was reading about him (sounds like quite a character at age 39) and his winning volley to get Hull City to the Prem.

    I was surprised when Hull brought him back. But he ended up being the guy pulling them up to the Premiership.

    That strike was class. He didn't look out of place the last time he was in the Premier League. I don't think he can have the kind of influence with Hull that he did with Bradford City, but that goal demonstrates the skill level he brings to the table.

    My favorite is basically how the commentators pronounce "Simon Davies" as "Simon Davis" . . but when Steven Davis is on the field, "Simon Davis" turns into "Simon Dave-EEZ" with the awkward emphasis, every single time.
