After a forgettable March, things got slightly better in April, but Fulham continued a gradual slide down the table. Goal scoring continued at anemic levels with just 1 goal per match in 2023. Fulham seemed to have found a spark with Dan James and Harry Wilson against Everton and Leeds, but a meek showing against Aston Villa put an end to that hope. Despite a sputtering offense, Fulham's defense was generally solid and unlucky to have not earned two points. An unfortunate own goal against West Ham and a poorly defended corner against Aston Villa led to 1-0 defeats that on other days could have easily finished 0-0. Despite having nothing to play for and some lackluster performances, Fulham came out with a lot of spirit and put in a good fight against Manchester City who had just throttled Arsenal in one of the most comprehensive victories of any team this season. Sadly Fulham's efforts got zero points and two crushing long term injuries.

This season is ending a bit flat, but it is important not to lose sight of what Fulham accomplished this season. Comfortably mid-table in April after so many heart breaking seasons in the Premier League.
