On Wednesday Fulham will host Millwall at Craven Cottage. If Fulham should get a victory then they will have a top six spot on the table for the first time this season.

Millwall will be looking to build off of their impressive home win vs. Sheffield Wednesday, who had won both of their matches to start the season. Millwall fired first from the formidable forehead of former Fulham forward, Matt Smith. Shortly after getting the lead, Millwall got a red card and went down to 10 men for most of the match but held off Wednesday for a 1-0 victory. Millwall is undefeated in all competitions this season.

Sadly, Preston and Stoke get their game on ESPN+, so you'll need FFCTV to watch.

Mid-week clash (hopefully not literally). Millwall and their mild mannered horde er’ group of lovely supporters make their way to CC. What are the odds that the stewards have gotten any sleep this week?

Hoping the lads can keep the momentum going. COYW

Honestly when I wrote the post I realized I needed to replace just two words to get a nice chain of "F's". The credit really belongs to Matt Smith. His carapace of flesh and bone that sits atop his neck makes me a little poetic. His presence on the field changes the beautiful flowing game of football that we generally recognize into something that more resembles a carnival game - bounce the ball off Matt Smith's head into the net and win a prize! Wave after wave of crosses come in with only one target - his forehead. I marvel at how effective this approach can be, yet I also fear for Matt's future as the repeated violent joinings of head and ball must be turning his brain into a gray slurry.

Alright, enough about Matt Smith. Some things of note via the BBC:
    • Millwall hasn't scored against Fulham in five years (part of that was due to being in different leagues for some seasons of course)
    • Fulham hasn't earned a point against a team from London in 10 attempts. The last team from London Fulham beat was... Millwall

No changes in the lineup from the Huddersfield match.

The "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" lineup:

    Bettinelli
    Bryan, Ream, Mawson, Sessegnon
    Johansen, Arter, Cairney
    Cavaleiro, Mitrovic, Knockaert

Subs: Rodak, Christie, Le Marchand, McDonald, Reed, Reid, Kamara

Keep that streak going against Millwall!

So much for thinking it might be at best a grind it out 1-Nil victory. Gotta love a good beatdown.

Worst part of being in this division: Opening the wallet and/or jumping through hoops to see them play.

Best part...: Knowing every time out this squad is capable of winning and churning out great performances.

I resorted to checking the live ticker on FotMob every five minutes or so. A solid victory; nice to see Cavaleiro paying dividends by getting the brace and Knockaert heading home his first minutes after a yellow.

The President Of The United States was in town this afternoon, so I couldn’t keep up with the match very well. Checked it at halftime and was quite pleased to see us up 2-nil. Just got off work and am equally pleased to see 2 more tallies after medio tiempo AND another clean sheet.
    So...........

Perhaps now we can stop focusing on fixing what went wrong last season and, instead, enjoy the ride THIS season.

Attacking wide, spreading the opposition's defense, tackling aggressively well clear of our penalty area, and ... MITRO!

    Let's enjoy

Highlights available already! It's a perfect day!

I had to rub my eyes after Cavaleiro's first goal because it was nearly identical to the one he had against Huddersfield. Same spot from the left of the box, Bryan overlaps to pull the defender, space opens, ball curls in by the far post. Wow.

Like Sully, I really wish I could have seen the whole thing. These highlights don't seem to do the night justice based on the stats.

This is the best start over 4 games that Fulham has had since 2000 when they opened with 11 league wins in a row.

I just gotta say the old ground looks fantastic with all the TV visible stands FULL (or nearly so). How cool would it be if it were that way for every match after the new Riverside Stand is completed?
    Daydreaming...

Nice video of the play leading up to the second goal. Everyone touches the ball in the buildup. I love watching Knockaert running from the top of the box to exactly where Cavaleiro is going to put the ball as he sees him heading to the end line. That effort is then rewarded with a score. Plus, we get a little GJ too!

Great patience to breakdown a defense that wasn't going to press them.
