Fulham will host Everton on Saturday at Craven Cottage. While we have only played four matches, we desperately need a win against the Toffees.

They are a tough, physical team and I think we struggle with these kinds of teams. However, I am predicting a 1-0 win for us.

    Thoughts? Predictions? Starting XI?

Well, if there ever was a time for the team to step up and put out the exceptional effort, this is it!

Bocanegra is off the injury list and put 60 min in a reserve game... Is it time to start him in center? ... no. but this is troubling in itself. Knight an Boca are probably the best we could field right now.
It's Goma's absence that's unsettling the bunch in front. It wasnt this bad when we had Ed, last season, to keep the guys straight. Tony is obviously better than thought but hasnt gained the needed authority yet.
SO what will be the effect when Carlos comes on as a sub..
He has the international experience that should give him the confidence to lead the defense, but will that translate to his defending partner?

Tough call as to who will start and play.. but I will say:

    volz / zat / zesh(boca 45)/ jensen

    diop and boa will start
claus gained another start with that goal, steed will probably start but shouldnt! (Window isnt closed yet, ya know)

McBride should start.. but he's out of place on right side of attacking zone! Pair him with CJ, tell Brian not to track back as much.

Tell you what...I really sympathize with Cookie on this game. It's not easy!

Agreed, especially if Ferrari makes his debut at CB. Glad we miss Van Der Meyder as Sky says he needs to pass a physical next week. I liked him in Portugal last summer. As for us tomorrow, how about:

    Warner
    Volz, Knight, Bocanegra, N. Jensen
Elrich, Diop, C. Jensen, Boa Morte
    John, McBride

Ideas: Bocanegra may not be fully fit yet but it gets rid of Zatn'Zesh pairing, rests Malbranque and Radz, gives Elrich a chance to link up (though unsure in him defencively but we have to know eventually) and gets McBride further forward and on the left to play off Boa's width. Thoughts?

I think Fulham's play at Highbury (especially early on) will have given them a much needed boost, and we will see the same intensity from them tomorrow. At least that's what the optimist in me predicts. That, and a 2-1 scoreline in our favor. No better time for a big 3 points!!

Sorry... he was trading passes with the back line, the whole match. Evidently CC had him trackinng back MUCH more than he ever used to.

On most {ermmm. well.. MANY} counters, according to commnetary, he had boa, steed, radz and claus in front of him.

ah got it. that'll most likely be to piss off the Everton defence; beforehand, David Moyes will have given each defender the run down of who they mark, so if one of the centre backs suddenly have Claus Jensen running at him with McBride behind him, he'll get over-run. and it seemed to work, at least for the goal :D
