Figured it's about time we kicked this off. After a weekend off of Fulham I'm ready (and nervous) for this match.

We all agree, we have to win this match and anything but 3 points will be simply unacceptable. If we all take in to account the last few times Fulham found themselves in this situation then we are looking at a disappointing draw. Fulham always play up to the good teams and play down to the bad ones and I would expect Lawrie to stop this awful trend. We need a win and we need it now.

In my opinion the next three matches should be called Fulham's nine point project. Start with Derby and lets take it to them.

    Keller

    Baird -- Boca -- Hughes -- Konchesky

    Davies -- Davis -- Smertin -- Bouazza

    Kamara -- Dempsey

Volz is fit and available to play from all reports that I've read. I don't believe that Lawrie will chance it though and will stick with Baird. Sad but true.

    Keller

    Baird (Volz-Wishful Thinking) -- Boca -- Hughes -- Konchesky

    Davies -- Davis -- Smertin -- Bouazza

    Kamara -- Dempsey

This will be my third Fulham match and hopefully it proves to be the charm. After drawing with Manchester City and getting thumped by Portsmouth, Fulham needs some good fortune to come their way at Craven Cottage.

It appears that I agree wholeheartedly with Mikey and the temporarily exiled Hoosier.

    I'm thinking 3-0 FFC myself.

I am very excited for this game. I actually wouldn't mind seeing Danny Murphy getting more playing time this week. I am hoping to be able to find the game on the internet, and watch it on Sopcast. For those interested, the game is being shown on Setanta at 3:00 am Sunday, and then again Monday at 8:15 am. Both times eastern time. So, I guess, at the very least I can watch it on my Setanta Broadband, on tape delayed.

    Come on Fulham!

By now the usual lineup has been stated. I think a start for Seol might be in order, but a quick sub if he isn't producing. And Kamara needs to start ahead of Healy.

I'm also being generous this game and saying a 3 - 0 win for the Whites.

Not saying their isn't some interesting matchups in the Euro qualifying (England v Estonia was riveting), but having to wait two weeks before the match has been brutal (and there's still a 4 DAYS to go!). After seeing the replay of the game vs. Pompey, I have no idea which team will show up (Jekyll or Hyde). I do know if three points isn't won we're on the road to disaster (maybe some hyperbole thrown in, but also some realism). Let's face it Baird will get another run out, so hope he plays like he did at Chelski. Kamara has to start, period, exclamation point.

Here's the deal guys and gals. All the Baird bashing aside, we're playing a buccaneer attack. We're throwing everything at the opponent's defense each match.

    1. If we do that and DON'T score in the first half like the match with Pompey, we have to hope for a nil-nil, and our team is not fitted to play that way.

    2. If we do that and give up a 2nd half goal like we did with Pompey, we'll get even MORE aggressive and let in another.

If we take our chances and get a two goal lead EVER this season, we'll kick some serious ass. But if we continue to create chances and not convert them [I'm looking at you, Deuce; I'm looking at you, Healy; I'm looking at you Kamara], then we'll continue to hang our defenders out to dry and they'll continue to get blamed for matches we lose because our forwards can't deliver.

Rant over. All we are saying, is give Baird a chance.

I'm still liking 3-0 to us.

I wasn't too nervous until I started reading this post. Now, i'm fairly nervous. I was warned when picking Fulham that they break your heart when you least expect it. This is one of those weekends for me. i just can't see them losing this match. I still have faith in Sanchez and like the attacking that they have displayed so far this season, but as don puts it, they have to finish.

"Must-win" games this early in the season are scary stuff. This is a team that hasn't yet gelled, and it looks as though there's no time to do so. Derby is also looking to do well and hope to prove the nay-sayers wrong. An away win would be big for them. I would love to say I'm confident of a victory, but I can't. I'm related to Eyeore, I guess. Hey, we were supposed to kick the tar out of 'Boro, right? Sanchez has only two victories as manager. Without a few more (and soon!), even I will be calling for his head.

Nothing about Baird? Oh, this year's Zat Knight? I noticed that he wasn't playing for NI, though he may have been on the bench. Good to see Maik in goal for them, though.

I'm not saying this is a must-win game in the sense of "If we don't win this, we are going to be playing in the CCC next year!", but if you don't win this game then it will make the next few weeks and months a bit more of a drag. The 9 Point Project would help to get us at least up the table.

Hopefully Boca will be in as good form as he was in the US-Swiss match.

Speaking of which, evidently SHN played a blinder for Finland against the Spaniards. That should help his confidence and keep things in Motspur Park intereting.

(Holding my breath, crossing my fingers) -- I say Fulham 3, Derby 1 this weekend -- I am worried that Derby sees this as a great opportunity to make up some ground as well, but I see a good weekend for the W's.

    Keller

Volz (please, no Baird!) -- Boca -- Hughes -- Konch

    Davies -- Davis -- Smertin -- Bouazza

    Healy -- Big Tex

    Niemi, Kamara, Murphy, Baird, Seol

Healy played well for NI this week against Sweden, does anyone know why Baird was suspended?
