Too inappropriate? Kill it if so.

If not, let's get up to speed on our next opponent. I know nothing.

Do we keep the same line-up? Do we keep the same formation? Will the match be televised?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

Still no word on TV. FSC still has two of their soccer matches as TBA, and I'll go out on a limb and say there's no chance Fulham vs. Sheffield makes it.

I'm dying to see the boys in live action! UGHHGHHGHG. Looks like they're not set to be televised on SKY until October 2 when they play Watford, and even then there's no guarantee that FSC picks up that game.

FSC announced their Saturday lineup and the Boys aren't playing. I was watching Sky Sports News and saw that during the commercials. The best part of the program, though, was seeing The Undead in 7th place. Let's keep them there!

The match: I'd like to see Brown sit down. He's going to have us playing with 10. Let's move Liam up to MF and put Volz in at RB. Aside from that, no changes. I'd like to see Runstrom on the bench also.

The defense is looking better. Neimi is my early nominee for player of the year.

Score: Fulham 2 United 0. Brian gets on the board.

Fulham's match this weekend will NOT be on television. There is an outside chance the Newcastle match on September 9th will.

As for Sheffield United, they are playing on heart and emotion right now being a newly promoted team. Often times playing a promoted side in the first or last month of the season is not always the best time. They will bring a straight forward 4-4-2 attack and while they have a few okay players in Akinbiyi and left-winger Danny Webber, they are nothing special.

However, as I mentioned, they will be playing with everything they have and knowing how Fulham has started, they will be coming into this match thinking they can take all three points.

It will be a hotly contested match and if Fulham takes this team lightly, they will lose.

That was quite a sobering dose of bluntness. But probably needed, as I was counting this one as pretty close to money in the bank.

Tom, do you think you could maybe forward that entire post on to Coleman? I think that might actually be a perfect pre-game peptalk. That would keep me from taking them lightly, I know that.

Oh, and FFC? "Shitfield?" Hilarious! That made me laugh out loud. Well done.

Yes, unless someone can top it, I take the sophomoric humor award for the day.

So based on what I have read so far here is what I gather.

    2-0, Fulham.

Now the question is, with what line up and formation. With Shitfield committed to the 4-4-2, here's a stab at what I would like to see:

(Back to Front, Right to Left)

    GK: Niemi

    D: Volz(Rosenior) - Christenval - Pearce(Boca) - Queudrue

    DM: Diop

    M: Rosenior(Brown/Radz) - Bullard - Boa Morte

    F: Helguson(John)/McBride(Runstrom)

Sounds as if Brown is struggling a little, and I have now given in to the pressure of all you Volz lovers, but Rosenior seems to like running the line and he fits at Midfield if Brown is having problems, card-wise or other. I'd like to see what Runstrom can do in the game too, and if he can score a goal.

What say the rest of you?

I'm afraid we're fighting a lost cause with getting Runstrom into the sub list. I hope I'm wrong, but from everything I've read it just doesn't seem like Cookie's gonna have him or Zakuani in for a while.

    I'd like to see:

    ------------------- Niemi ---------------------

    Volz -- Christanval -- Pearce -- Queudrue

    ------------------- Diop ----------------------
    -- Radzinski --- Bullard ----- Boa Morte --

    ------------ John ------- McBride -----------

    Subs:
    Helguson
    Brown
    Rosenior
    Bocanegra
    Drobny

Pardon my ignorance, but why have I not heard of this Drobny cat?

    The skinny?

    My Lineup would be.

    Niemi
    Rosey-Christanval-Boca-Queudrue
    Radz-Bullard-Diop-Boa
    Mcbride-John

I don't like the 2 big men up front at the same time. Helguson is rubbish IMO and John should be a shoo-in for the starting lineup every game. Radz adds pace to the right wing which Brown certainly doesn't do and Boa needs to step it up and leave. He's been absolute rubbish since taking over the armband. Really I think game is money as we win 4-1. If we lose Coleman will be out after the next 3 games probably even sooner.

Drobny's the backup goalie with Crossley hurt.

Ah right, so he's gotta be there. Guess that crashes my Runstrom plan.

Well, of course if Fulham takes Sheffield Utd lightly, they'll lose. This isn't a league full of minnows and sharks-it's still the beginning of the season, no one has given up. In any case all opponents provide crucial opportunities for a precious 3 points that Fulham really needs now. Based on the fact that Fulham is currently winless, I'm sure that will be enough to pump up the team to give 100% on the field.

I have heard a lot about Volz; I'd like to see (well, find out about, since this won't be on TV) him play for a change.

Fulham has a tendency in the past to take teams they should beat lightly and in turn, they lose those matches. Just looking at last season I remember the Portsmouth match at home, the Sunderland match on the road, the West Brom match on the road, Birmingham City at home. These are all teams that were relegated or in Pompey's case, close to relegation.

This goes back to my criticism of the manager. It is his job to make sure the team is focused and ready not just for the big guns of the league, but for all teams. Fulham will not get relegated by losing to Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal. But they could get relegated if they lose to teams like Sheffield United, Watford and Reading.

Thus, it might sound like a simple statement, but knowing the history of the way this team has played under Coleman it is a statement that holds a lot of truth in Saturday's match.

Fair enough. You've been following the team a lot longer than I have. I didn't even realize they even lost to League One Bound Sunderland away.

But having watched enough sports - and the US performance in the WC is a recent example - the manager/coach alone is not enough to motivate a player. The player must have some level of motivation within himself to do their best. If you're in the EPL and you can't get pumped up enough to win a game - especially when your team have no wins so far - there must be something wrong and should be transfered away, in my opinion.

I'm not disagreeing with you, I just think there's more to it than just Coleman's motivation. But it's a mere opinion.

Three points are never in the bag when Fulham are playing. It's hard what to know what to expect out of Sheffield, but based on the Liverpool match they'll be a tough side. We have to remember that they to will be looking at this as a good opportunity for points. I did see on sky that they're facing an injury crisis already, missing five key players.
    Prediction Fulham 3-1
my starting eleven:(not that it will happen this way)
    ---------Runstrom-----McBride
    Jensen----Boa----Bullard----Brown
    Q---Boca----Christanval---Rosienor
    ----------------Nemi
    Bench:
    Volz
    John
    Drobny
    Radz
    Zat

Nothing against Helegson, in fact he’s my favorite player, I just wanted to give Runstrom a go.

I completely agree with what you are saying here. The players do need to self-motivate themselves. I just think all to often the manager and his staff take things lightly in training and in the team's preparation the week heading into such a match. In fact ti bugs me watching professional athletes that can get motivated to play in a game no matter what sport he/she plays in.

As Spencer said, there is no such thing as an automatic three points for Fulham. I wish there was, but there is not. Saturday would be about close as you could come and I am still nervous about the team getting a result.

Spencer, Claus Jensen is still out. He has an injury.....yet again. I think it is a calf strain and he is working with a specialist at present time to get better and to try and get back on the pitch.

I would actually like to see Radzinski in on the right side of midfield to add some width to the team that has been missing the first two games. If Boa and Radz can stretch the defense wide, it will give Bullard and Papa more space to operate.

Up front I want to see Helguson and John playing together.

FULHAMISH that is all i have to say....the players and all the "ingredients" are there for the whites to take 3...just how the soccer gods smile on us that day!...and here is hoping they are smiling on the whites and dumping on the blues down the road...a win and chelzki loss and that is 4 pts for the good guys and only 3 for the siberian money machine.....

I as well need my fix, does the fulham TV just get you highlights or full match coverage??? wish dang apartment complex would let me get dish network, does that pick up more prem matches...not saying i dont appreciate FSC efforts...but the "usual" teams appearing (and i'm not just saying this b/c of Fulham), but the "usual" teams isnt always the best thing in the world.....anywho......3-2 is the score...HA...i dont care if its 14-9 if it is 3 points for the whites GO ON!!!!!
