    6-0...

This Saturday will be almost 4 months to the day where Fulham suffered arguably their most humiliating Premier League defeat ever. Seriously, losing by 6 goals to Hull???

Seeing how all the other relegations scrappers are doing it looks like that 9 points is needed (minimum chance 7 would do), so it must start on Saturday. The toll that getting to a FA Cup final on a club the size of Hull has been evident and if Fulham can't find a way to beat a team that has one eye on the Final then they deserve to get dropped. Win and there is a glimmer of hope, and if nothing else it's time to redeem themselves for 6-0.

I've been having recurring nightmares about this match. Saturday needs to hurry.

A Fulham win and a Norwich loss drags the Whites out of the relegation zone on Saturday. However, the thorn in the side is Cardiff have Sunderland on Sunday and could easily win that match and muck up survival. All hands to the pumps, all hands to the pumps...

Have a look at Murphy's header against Portsmouth on youtube - hopefully that could remove the bad dreams. Otherwise, I recommend copious amounts of gin.

If Fulham don't get 3 on Saturday, there's no possibility of staying up this season. I'm very interested in seeing not only the lineup but also the bench.

As for the match, I'm looking forward to seeing Rosenior, who finally seems to have blossomed into the Premier League player I always thought was in there somewhere.

Philip Buckingham finds Hull City boss Steve Bruce focused on securing Premier League safety before even thinking of Wembley

IN THE wake of a comprehensive defeat to Arsenal on Sunday, Steve Bruce bristled at the notion his Hull City side could learn lessons ahead of facing the same opposition in next month's FA Cup final.

"I'm not really interested in Wembley just yet," was the unusually blunt response. "We've got to stay in this league and let Wembley look after itself in four weeks."

While City supporters have eagerly begun making plans for a return to the scene of their semi-final win over Sheffield United, the only trip to the capital occupying Bruce's mind is this weekend's date with Fulham.

Hopefully the team is following their supporters lead and are not thinking about this game...

It appears that the rumor that is Kostas Mitrogleu might actually be fit (stop me if you've heard this one before) for this one intrigues me ever so slightly. Given that Dejagah seems more effective off the bench, do you start glue, then sub Ashkan for him at the half? Provided we haven't shipped two or more goals by then, of course. Gotta say I was impressed with Hull at Wembley. They spotted Sheffield U. a one goal lead at the break and came roaring back in the second half. And I'll respectfully disagree with the right honourable gentleman...I think we have to win out to have any hope of avoiding the drop. You can't count on the others folding (unless it's the '64 Phillies) to help you. That includes the near impossible task of getting three points at Stoke. We're capable of it, but ONLY if we can give young Mr. Stockdale a reasonable chance at reaching balls directed at his goal, something we had been getting better at until last week. Will we beat Hull at home? I have no idea. But I'll be bold and predict we will, 2-1.

Not to sound like Alexi Lalas, but I'm very curious to see how we handle set pieces.

One facet of Felix's reign that has inexplicably gone under the radar his is tactical refusal to mark the posts. I don't have the sheer numbers in front of me, but I recall this being quite evident in the loss to Cardiff, the win at Villa, and last week at Spurs. I'm sure Steve Bruce and Hull City will take note of it.

    Also just win.

I'd think we'll come out fighting for our Premier League lives. I'd think we'll come out seeking revenge for that 6-0 beating they gave us at the KC. But then I'd have thought we'd have treated every game as must win over the last couple of months. Yet we heard after Spurs, City, Chelsea that we didn't expect a result anyway and the score lines reflected that. That said, Felix has said we must win our home games and in the matches that he's targeted as "must win" (Newcastle, Villa, Norwich) we've done the business.

So I think we'll take a VERY nervy 1-0 win. If for no other reason than to extend our suffering.

The spirit of Al Davis will bring a win. This is fantastic karma...at least in my mind.

This team looks like it was put together by the spirit of Al Davis in recent years, so why not.

The next thing The Mirror will say: Mitroglou is on the surface of the moon living in an intact B-17 and hanging with Osama bin Laden's alien lovechild.

I'll be out of the pocket today, lads and lasses. Going to Frankfort for a one day TV News Storytelling Boot Camp. The good news? They usually play better when I'm not paying attention.
Have marvy chat and I'll catch up with ya'll afterwards sometime.

I was holding out hope, but after that, there's no way back. We're toast. I would normally have much to say about Magath's use of subs, but I just don't have it in me right now.

Well, I didn't see any of the match again. Made it to the chat a few minutes before Hull equalized and well...crap. UGH. Seems we ran out of steam and most likely didn't make the right subs...seems to be an all too common theme this season.

I'm off to enjoy a BBQ. Whatever league Fulham plays in next year, I'll still be here cheering them on. I've accepted the Championship. If a miracle happens, I'll galdly accept it too. :)
