Well, the match is less than 24 hours away, so I guess it isn't TOO early to start a game thread.

With both Bobby and AJ still nursing groin problems, the question of who will run up front is paramount. I look for Nevland and Dempsey up front, and EJ on the bench. Since Nevland is only effective for 25 minutes [witness his Gera/Zamora imitation late against Blackburn], I think we might see EJ for the last half hour or so. There's also a possiblity of seeing Murphy, but I think he'll probably start on the bench.

    So,

Schwarzer; JP, Hughes, Re-up Hangerland, Konch; Duff, Etuhu, Greening, Davies; Dempsey, Nevland.

    2-0

The match is NOT on FSC, and ESPN2 is STILL being coy about who they have at 0900 Central, so somebody will have to let us know if there's TV coverage.

I expect the same lineup as we saw on Wednesday. And similar results.

The only pub in worcester, ma with setanta said they're airing some rugby match instead, so it'll be chat zone and feed searching for me. Crikey.

If BobbyZ can go I am guessing:

Schwarzer, Pantsil, Hughes, Brede, PK, Duff, Greening, Baird, Dempsey, BZ and Nevland.

Bench: Murhphy, Etuhu, Davies, Kelly, Gera, Smalling, Zuberbuhler

If BobbyZ can't go then Gera goes in the starting XI, Seol warms a spot on the bench and Dempsey starts up front with Nevland.

2-0 Fulham. Negative Bolton are usually only a problem at their place. I need a break from the hassle that is atdhe.net and iraqgoals so I'll be in the pub for this one. Don, consider that an invite if you're not otherwise family obligated this w/e.

Shouldve won the game. Bolton had 10 men behind the ball all 2nd half which is a disgrace. Even then we had some breakaway plays which couldve turned into chances had we hurried up and kept the play going. We attacked with everything we had and were unlucky. I hate getting a single point against the shit that is Bolton.

Hangeland got too tight in Klasnic which led to their goal. Hangeland wasn't bad, but he needs to cut the mistakes as its costing us points.

Duff is making me look like a super genius. Its a good thing Hodgson read the forum and saw my recommendation to sign Duff or we would be in some trouble this season.

I loathe Bolton's style. They simply show up, kick the shit out of the opposition (in a literal sense), and then see what happens thereafter. In spite of a schadenfreude-curse, I hope they're relegated.

Duffman is thrusting in the direction of goal...

What Nev said. What a bunch of no talent hacks. Kind of like me when I played.

Megson is such a dirtbag that I won't waste bandwidth ranting about him. He knows how crap he is.

Jaaskalainen is the worst because he was their best player. How long has he been at Bolton, 12-13 years? Without him, that team is CCC bound. Maybe still is. We can only hope.

Really wished we would have won this one. No sense in ranting on about it being an unsatisfying effort, because it by and large was not, but I really wanted to kick these bunch of hacks in the point tally.

Nev summed it up perfectly. Bolton seemed to go through our guys on every 50/50 ball. They finished with 20 fouls and 6 yellows and it didn't seem like the official called much on them in the first half.

On our end, we relied too much on the long ball. We seemed to do better when we passed it on the deck. This was definitely a game where we missed Zamora. Dempsey and Duff are carrying the offensive end right now. Good to see Simon back as a sub. For my money, we don't have anyone better at crossing the ball into the box.

At home v Bolton, I'd usually hate not taking all 3 points. However, given the injuries and how much of the match we trailed, I'm not too upset with 1 point. 4 pts on the week, 10th in the standings and still on pace for a finish comparable to last year. Not too bad.

*There's the key I was wondering about!

I got streaming to work at about 70' and it was glaringly obvious the only way we ended up with the ball from the air was when it was poorly headed down by a Bolton player.

Anyone ever notice that Jussi Jaaskelainen looks like Brian McBride a little bit?
