OK to clarify: I know that soccer was originally used to differentiate between football and rugby. It just irks me to call a sport in which 2 (or often times less) players touch the ball with their feet. Football is the much more logical choice of the two names. I have nothing against soccer its just that football describes the sport so much better.

P.S. I second PCB's motion, so please move this to a separate thread.

It's either banter... or it's too boring for its own thread and needs deleted. I dont delete. It stays.

Since its an election year it's time for a political compromise (in other words useless to both sides and the public in general). Henceforth, I shall refer to the beautiful game as Socball, please don't scoff because its infinitely better than the alternative of Fooccer.

Oh Joe, I really quite think "FOOCCER" is infinitely better.

(Especially since pettyfog won't aquiesce to the will of the people.)

Is this where I can gloat about my cornerkick coming in, deflected off a teammates foot as it sped towards my path, struck with the outside of my right, curling to the right past a defenders head, tipped by a semi-pro quality diving keeper's fingers, into the top right corner of the crossbar, sweet 30 yard (okay, maybe 25 yard) goal in our 8 v. 8 last night?

I love this game. Thank you for alowing me some "me" time.
