I don't know if it's true, but it's not the first time I've heard it mentioned. That'd be pretty neat and could help to keep Premier League-caliber guys interested in staying on in the event of relegation.

Heh, they must have been reading my site. It's true, we have a decent shot. We have to either move past Man City in the fair play table, or hope that Man City qualifies for the UEFA Cup via league position or the Intertoto.

Even then, England fell behind Norway in the UEFA Fair Play standings. Here, the top country (Norway) gets an extra bid, and several other countries (currently 7 of them) are drawn into 2 more spots. So, if we finish atop the Premier League fair play table (at this point, it's a big IF), and England doesn't move past Norway on the UEFA fair play table, we have a 2/7 chance of qualifying. If England does move back ahead of Norway, we're automatically in.

More or less, we have to hope that Man City players/fans behave poorly, and the rest of England behaves like a tennis hooligan.

Very simple...just goat Stevie Ireland or Martin Petrov or both into a Red Card and it helps both our bid for a UEFA spot and our chances at winning the game...

...maybe Stalteri can pull a lock or two out of Benjani's hair and get him to retaliate by punching him in his giant Canadian nose for 3 red cards on the day...that should just about wrap it up.

    Nevermind - I found it:

    ManCity 8.33
    Everton 8.31
    Fulham 8.27

    It could happen, right?

Everton will be qualifying on league position. So, it's only Man City. Their new owner should have been given a yellow card or two for pissing off the fans over his treatment of SGE. Maybe that'll help.

Man City are unsettled at the moment. Anything can happen.

It wouldn't be Fulham without something strange like this coming to pass.

Man City could conceivably qualify for the Intertoto if Cardiff wins the FA Cup. If that happens (its not), we're in. In Fair Play points, though, we're less than a single red card behind them. If only Omozusi hadn't gotten sent off...

    what a minute....

does this have anything to do with the Behavior of the Public Fair Play Tables by the Premier League??

because i thought we could also qualify for the UEFA Cup through that as well (by way of a lottery).

    this is quite confusing...

Man City has a red card today.

Now let's hope Fulham can win today.

Well I think it looks good for us
    Points are awarded as follows

    R/Y Card 10
    Positive Plat 10
    Respext to opponent 7
    Respect to Ref 7
    Behaviour to Officials 6

City Lost 4 points for 1 Red and 1 yellow
They could hardly get anything for positive play losing 8 -1
We did not disrespect the ref or our opponents and our behaviour to the officials was not bad either

We need to make up 2 points
We made 4 up on the red and yellow cards so would have to lose out badly on the others

    Fingers crossed

I read on another site that we did pass City in the Fair Play table, though there's no source on it.

According to the Premier League Review Show today, ManCity got the fairplay nod to Europe. No link, but they mentioned during their lowlights against Boro.

There are so many intangibles (ref reports, behavior of players, etc.) involved outside the red card/yellow card issue that none of us will know until the numbers are actually crunched and an audit completed.

One thing for certain: Citeh put this in play for us.
