Now that we've had a discussion of players we hate, let's share the love...
We all obviously have our favorite Cottagers (McBride, Boa Morte, Gooch? Please? Pretty please? I mean, c'mon--how cool would it be to get him?), but most fans of English football have other players they like as well. So I pose the question: Who is (are) your favorite non-Fulham EPL player(s)?
My list starts with Harry Kewell--he just seems like a hard-nosed player who's always around the ball.
I also like Thierry Henry; he's not exactly hard-nosed, but he manages to get a ton of chances and is always pushing the offside lines. I like his style.

I like a number of different players:

    Gael Clichy at Arsenal
Cristiano Ronaldo at Manchester United (not his antics, his skills)
    Thierry Henry at Arsenal
Andy Johnson at Everton (formerly at Palace)
    Aaron Lennon at Tottenham
    Tom Soares at Palace
    Tomasz Kuszczak at West Brom

There are some others I like as well. These just came to me right now.

    Good question though Tony.

Oh, yeah... I forgot about Aaron Lennon. Why he didn't start in the World Cup is beyond me. Every time he got in the games, he did something remarkable. Just a fantastic player.

Clint Dempsey- have to disagree with you FFC24 Beasley has been terrible for about a year now, hard not to like Dempsey I hope he gets to the Premiership soon
    Thiery Henry
    Ronaldinho

    I'm such a homer:

Gooch (Liege; big and has quite confidence)
Spector (West Spam; big and will get in some faces)
    Gibbs (Charlton; pure athlete)
    Hahnemann (Reading; heavy metal keeper)
Convey (Reading; all business, all hustle)
Cherundolo (Hannover96; experience that some are only still realizing)
Eddie Johnson (MSL; athletic, but still raw)
Dempsey (MSL; starting to grow on me, but could easily go the other way

    Non-U.S.
Robbie Keane (Tottenham; Irish and emotional)
    McFadden (Everton; see above)
    Chimbonda (Wigan; rags to riches)
Ferdinand (Man-Who?; like the big, forceful defenders)
    Campbell (Pompey; see above)
Andres D'Alessandro (Real Zaragoza; former pizza delivery boy who saved Pompey from relegation)
Podolski (Bayern Munchen; great young Polish/German talent)
Schweinsteiger (Bayern Munchen; love saying his name)
Kahn (Bayern Munchen; love saying his name like Captain Kirk did. "Kaaaahn!")
Robben (Chelsea; plays for the enemey, but I was impressed in Cup)
Ronaldinho (Barcelona; c'mon, what's not to like)
Eto'o (Barcelona; he and Ronaldinho make up the most dangerous attack in Footy)

That's it for now. Will update as any more come to me. Yours???

Cantona is my all time favorite player, he's what made me committ to soccer.

Currently, Ronaldinho is my favorite. His skill is second to none and he smiles even when he messes up...there are not many that love the game as much as he.

    a few on my list:

John Terry - one of the few players on Chelski that I truly respect.
Edwin van der Sar - more like "van der God" if you ask me.
Park Ji Sung - boundless energy, lightning fast, should be starting more often for United.
Shunsuke Nakamura - the best Japanese footballer today.
Junichi Inamoto - i'll never forget his heroics for Japan in 2002, as well as those for Fulham
Matt Le Tissier - he's retired now, but i still admire his skills, not to mention his loyalty to Southampton.
Ricardo Vaz Te (Bolton Wanderers) - mainly because he and i share the same birthday.

other players plying their trade in Europe, including Riquelme, Ronaldinho, Miro Klose, Zambrotta, and Fabio Grosso, just to name a few. i also like Daisuke Matsui, Shinji Ono, and Alessandro Santos from Japan.

This will be tough. I'm very old; I'll forget people. This is not all inclusive, but ...

Old money: Bobby Charlton, Eusebio, Pele, Cruyff, Denis Law, George Best, Ian Callaghan, Bruce Rioch, Wyn Davies, Terry Cooper, Graham French, Bobby Moore.

More recently: Des Walker, Eric Cantona, John Harkes, Frank Lampard the elder

Current: Jamie Carragher, Steven Gerrard, Thierry Henry, Robert Pires, Bobby Convey, DMB, Clint Dempsey, Eddie Lewis, Claudio, Claudio, Claudio, and I agree about Robbie Keane.

    Good thread, TonyTex!

Rooney- One of my favorite players in the EPL. He plays hard nosed football; I loved watching him the World Cup bashing through defenders. He also hustles like a mother; you'll see him at both ends of the pitch quite a bit.

Gooch- big, strong and fast. Plus he can stare down a striker like no other!

Gary Neville- a hard working back who brings a lot of heart to the game. I respect players who stay at one club for their entire career. Such loyalty is thin in professional sports.

Aaron Lenon- love his pace and creativity on the ball.

Becks- call him a pretty boy but he is one of the best free kick takers ever. I also like his committment to come to America to help promote football here.

Clint Dempsey- his dedication to the game is outstanding; he was one of the few bright spots for the US this World Cup. I hope to see him in Europe soon.

And of course, as was said above, how can you not like Ronaldinho? His joy is a real boon to the game.
