    It's occured to me watching a barely recognizable Newcastle side lose to Brighton, should there be more on the line than a trophy for winning this thing? Don't know what it would be, automatic promotion, automatic qualification for European play, something. Otherwise, why even play the damn thing if your not gonna put your "A" team in?

    The FA Cup winner qualifies for the Europa League. If the winner turns out to be a Champions League qualifier, then the team that loses the final qualifies.

    Two high points for sure. Thanks, gents.

    Here's the low spot: during the West Ham/ManU match the announcers were talking about how great it is to play in a match like this: "Full house, lively crowd, Budweiser FA Cup third round -- the most exciting weekend of the season -- and playing under the BUD LIGHTS." The other announcer echoes, "Yes, the Bud lights." Tell me that was NOT scripted and fed to those two muppets.

    Well, if we manage an away victory at Blackpool, then we face Man U or West Ham away. Errr. Can we draw again, please?

    Wouldn't have been so bad if Spam hadn't gagged. Find a way to get by the Seasiders, manage an away draw at Old Trafford and get it back to CC to progress..cue the movie Airplane;

    there's a very happy man down in the Peoples Republic of South Texas. Not only is Fulham's 4th round tie LIVE on television on Saturday, but the Norwich City v. Luton Town tie is also being televised. Depending on kit, the latter match could seriously fuck up your television. Norwich likes the yellow and green, and Luton are back to their 1970s look with Orange shirts with a diagonal broad white strip with blue trim. Orange, yellow, and green. It's like University of Oregon on steroids.

    HD, hopefully you'll be the 'Hat that eats the Canary' :D

    Some interesting matches, so far in the first half;

    Bolton-Everton tied at 1. Tim Ream starting and Holden on bench for the Wanderers.

    Brighton & Hove-Arsenal tied at 1. Arse keeper Szczney making a meal of it so far.

    MK Dons leading at QPR by a goal.

    I watched the first 30 minutes LIVE and then had to leave the house. I watched Fulham -- or whoever that was in our unit -- as soon as I got home, and I'm finally catching up on the Luton match. I heard the result, but I'm watching anyhow. So far, it's hard to tell which is the Conference team -- Fulham or Luton.
