The England Squad for the friendly against Switzerland has been selected...well...sort of. 30 players have been selected to train and the field will be narrowed down to 23. Curtis Davies of Aston Villa is the surprise inclusion, but undoubtedly wouldn't make the final 23...or would he? Interesting how Capello has come out with this statement on "equality". Here are the 30:

England squad: David James (Portsmouth), Scott Carson (Aston Villa), Chris Kirkland (Wigan Athletic); Wayne Bridge (Chelsea) , Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Curtis Davies (Aston Villa), Rio Ferdinand (Manchester United) Glen Johnson (Portsmouth), Ledley King (Tottenham Hotspur), Nicky Shorey (Reading), Wes Brown (Manchester United), Joleon Lescott (Everton), Micah Richards (Manchester City) Matthew Upson (West Ham United), Jonathan Woodgate (Tottenham Hotspur); Michael Carrick (Manchester United), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), Gareth Barry (Aston Villa), Jermaine Jenas (Tottenham Hotspur), Owen Hargreaves (Manchester United), Joe Cole (Chelsea), Ashley Young (Aston Villa), Stewart Downing (Middlesbrough), Shaun Wright-Phillips (Chelsea), David Bentley (Blackburn Rovers); Emile Heskey (Wigan Athletic), Gabriel Agbonlahor (Aston Villa) Michael Owen (Newcastle United), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Peter Crouch (Liverpool)

I've bolded two notable inclusions. Upson back in the squad and Wayney boy...how I loved Wayney boy when he was here on loan. No David Beckham either. Capello wants players who are match fit. Beckham will have to wait.

No Paul Robinson either! This guy's smarter than the last two England managers already!

Didn't Bridge get torched in England's huge home loss to Croatia?

I'm bummed and surprised Kitson (Reading) didn't get a call; the word was he was under consideration.
