Probably only Don will recognize the name.

PowerLine lawyer {not the Everton fan} pays tribute to the crossover artistsof the fifties/early sixties who influenced a helluva lot of later groups, including the Beatles but starting with Simon and Garfunckel.
    - not to mention Don's group

.. yes, the photo is a good portrayal. The popular opinion WAS that they were 'artistic and sensitive'. Like most young men at the time I didnt much care for them.

    ya know...

I grew up with the Everly's. All four of us kids started singing harmony about two weeks after we learned to sing melody. Thanks, Mom.

The Everlys did indeed influence a ton of artists in the 60s forward. The one I remember most was Connie Francis who professed to hating country music once on the radio. The Everlys invited her to Nashville and, after a week's visit, turned out single after single that were basically country songs.

Not promoting or anything, but if you want to hear a good Everly Brothers song with their type of close harmony, click here.

and scroll down until you see "Let it be Me."

    Thanks for the thread, 'fog.
