Been meaning to start one of these for a while, so will give it a try and see if it merits enough discussion to continue.

Starting at the top. A penalty AND red card against ManU at the Theatre and a 4-1 tonking by the Reds to top it off. Usually when Rafa starts chirping, his side fail to pay it off. The result probably isn't enough to threaten United's title hopes though.

scum 1-0 over Citeh. Are the poo riding the new manager bounce or is Hiddink a better fit...or perhaps it's the return of Essien who notched the winner? Whatever the cause, they've quietly put together a nice run that may well see them to 2nd.

Arsenal 4-0 over Blackburn. Arshavin is starting to gel into the side and Rovers look like Rovers again after the anomaly at the Cottage.

Spurs 2-1 over Villa. Spurs look to be in solid form and appear to have played their way well clear of the Relegation scrap. Is any side not named WBA on a bigger spiral than Villa? That comeback by Stoke seems to have given them a hangover they can't break out of. No help from the fixture list ahead as their next 3 are Manu, the Puds, and Everton.

Speaking of the Toffees. What a difference a striker or two makes. Moyes's side are looking like the best shot now (if there is one) of knocking one of the big 4 out of the Champions League. Everton never looked in doubt handling Stoke 3-1. As an aside, Fellaini, the hair, what are you doing? Stoke look like they're going to be straddling the divide until the last week.

Wigan 2-1 over Sunderland. Insomnia with the winner, and Wigan take all 3 in typical Latic fashion. Poor Steed had a lot of chances and couldn't convert a one.

Newcastle 1-1 at Hull. Hull keep nicking the odd point that should keep them in the league and Newcastle continue to tease me with their relegation. I know they'll escape, but one can hope, no?

Pompey 1-1 at Boro. Both desperately needed the 3 pts and neither could deliver. How many teams has Marlon King played for since failing that physical with us?

Spam and WBA tomorrow at Upton Park. This one should cement WBA at the bottom and Hammers in the top 10.

So the Big 4 are back in the Top 4, Villa sit 5th and Stoke, Boro and WBA make up the future of the CCC. Until the next round, anyway. Fulham are 9th, STILL in the top 10, and just 3 pts shy of 40 with 9 matches to go.

I wanted Hull to win as much as Fulham yesterday. Not almost as much, AS MUCH. Of course once it was over I didn't sweat it at all.

Matt, we have a chance of Bad Soap Opera FC getting relegated. Michael Owen's overdue for his next injury. Martens too. And the Toon's next four matches are v. Arsenal, v. Chelski, @ Stoke, and @ Spurs. That's a possible zero points out of 12. Stoke is tough at the Brittania, that is the only chance I see through my not-at-all biased glasses for them to get points.

    Keep hope alive!!!
