EPL Best XI 2007-2008

    Well, everybody else is putting these lists together. Why shouldn't we? Of course we don't see the the number of matches those guys do, but that shouldn't stop it.

    Here's mine

    Goalkeeper -- Tim Howard, Everton -- brilliant all year

    Back four -- Bacara Sagna, Arsenal -- also hairstyle of the year
    Back four -- Jamie Carragher, Liverpool -- should please T_of_Mc
    Back four -- Nemanja Vidic, Man U -- as tough as McBride
    Back four -- Ricardo Carvalho, Chelsea -- multi-positional, classy

    Midfield -- Christiano Renaldo, Man U -- a shocker, I know
    Midfield -- Steve Gerrard, Liverpool -- good form all year
    Midfield -- Michael Essian, Chelsea -- best player in the Prem for my money
    Midfield -- Gareth Barry, Aston Villa -- needs to stay with O'Neill

    Striker -- Fernando Torres, Liverpool -- Just a brillian striker
    Striker -- Robbie Keane, Spurs -- These two together would destroy

    Reserves
    GK -- Calamity James, Portsmouth -- Englands best, and he's only 93
    B4 -- Rio Ferdinand, ManU -- I miss the braids
    MF -- Martin Petrov, Man City -- mostly because he killed us this season
    ST -- Emmanual Adabayor, Arsenal -- nipped Rooney and Santa Cruz

    Don, I would only change Berbatov instead of Keane, however Keane would probably be a better compliment to Torres.

    Ok here's my list (mainly based on who impressed me the most and who I actually know who they are):

    GK: Tim Howard - HatterDon said it

    Back 4: Identical to HatterDon

    M: Cristiano Ronaldo - Uhhhh self explanatory
    M: Cesc Fabregas - One of the best play-makers in the prem (and had some great goals)
    M: Mikel Arteta - From what I saw, he was pretty good
    M: Morten Gamst Pedersen - Exceptional season in my eyes

    Striker: Eduardo da Silva - Most clinical striker I've ever seen
    Striker: Roque Santa Cruz - great striker

    OK I won't even bother picking reserves. I've spent about 30 minutes on this already. Mind you this really doesn't represent the Best XI....... They're my best XI based on their best form during the season and consistency during that stretch of the season. Basically this would be the team I would love to have........
