Duff to Newcastle

    They 'only' signed him from 5m pounds but there must be a catch, other than his wages being sky high, there has to be appearance fees, etc. A good buy though for toon.

    I am guessing the only reason they sold him to Newcastle at such a price was to keep him out of the hands of Tottenham or Liverpool. Both of these teams could potentially push Chelsea this season and I doubt they want to see Damien Duff beat them so they sold him to the bar codes, a team that will struggle to finish in the top ten.

    Bobby McMahon was saying on this morning's FSW report that Ze Bleu Peu are going to go with a 4-4-2 instead of a 4-5-1 or a 4-3-3. Wing players aren't as important with that formation and so Duff was expendable.

    I thought Duff and BW-P were wasted on that club last year. I've always liked Duff's zest for the game and work rate. The Geordies should go for that also.
