Chicago must be scrambling if they're going after a guy who can't play in the Costa Rican league

Paulo used to be one of my most favorite players, but he has really slipped. I'll be surprised if he can crack even Chicago's starting 11.

Sometimes its more about fan support and selling a few more shirts than actually helping the team win.

I agree.. after a few games he wont be starting.

He isnt going to sell a lot of shirts, either..
Osario has some role in mind I assume.. but what struck me first is that a few fans who wonder if McBride would fit applaud this move.

I was tempted to post on BS my view that perhaps they then could lure Dwight Yorke.. but decided to not be too obvious.

What's interesting about this phenom phenomenon is how soon they fade into the woodwork of the team mindset.

We're already seeing it with Angel at NY. I see that GBS' passing in the recent games has fallen off in quality. We saw Montella on fire with his intro at Fulham then struggle.

And remember Chivas bringing in the two stars from south of the border last year? An adrenaline injection, then where are they now?

don't count GBS out yet. It's a painfully difficult game to play, and this is his first American summer schedule. I think he's the goods.

Oh, he's the goods! Havent seen the midfield so well formed {relatively} since Harkes was at the Crew. It would have been worth a million to keep him... surely the Crew will realize that and pay Schelotto what he's really worth.

The point is that when Sigi tells the midfield players how he wants the attack to form, GBS can show them.

And BTW... I've given Alejandro Moreno short shrift on here, he is definitely the missing link target Fwd that the Crew has needed since McBride left.
Crew fans realize it but Schelotto gets all the press. Like McBride he draws off the defense; like McB he gets the crap knocked out of him match after match, picks himself up and gets back in it.
Here's a great interview with him..

And BTW, if there EVER WAS a Win-Win trade, the Ngwenya/Moreno deal has to rank as one of the all-time best in MLS. Ngwenya was doing nothing for us, Moreno was superfluous at Houston.

Early days yet, but if both players keep it up, it was genius.

I like the Wanchope signing. I think he can still produce the goods for the Fire. It is a one year deal so it is not that big of a commitment. He definitely will NOT sell shirts and tickets, but I do think he will score some goals.

Forwards tend to get into slumps. Especially when the forward is someone who needs someone else to give him the service (and is a bit slow or not willing to go after passes/crosses...coughANGELcough).

As far as Wanchope goes; if LA can be the revitalization of Abel Xavier's career, I can't see why not Wanchope. Can he really be worse than Calen Carr and Wade Barrett? I think not. But then again, I still remember the legend of The King of Gols.
