    dt, thanks for finding this and posting, two good interviews. the Dempsey interview sounded like one of them had the TV on really loud while doing the interview, it was kind of funny. Thanks!

    I listened to the Dempsey interview before the portsmouth game and was very disappointed to hear him compare the prospect of losing that match to losing an MLS playoff game.

    Mo, I thought the same thing. I have to assume he is just REAL laid back kid cause he didn't seem as fired about what was coming up as I expected.....I chocked it up to the show he was watching on the TV while he was doing the interview. :D

    i didn't necessarily think he was comparing the importance of the game, but more the feeling. Very similar to a playoff game in that if you win, you keep going and if you lose, you go home. I think his quote was taken out of context.

    I got the same impression, dtwon. I took it as "rather than a WC opening round when there's another game later in the week, this is like the MLS playoffs where when you lose you go home." I don't think he was minimizing it at all.
