Cultural Evolution!!

Breaking News!... [gasp, gasp}.. evolution actually plays a part in development of cultures!

I'm sure you are either surprised.. or, like me, will say: 'Well DUH!'

As evidence, consider that "Philosophy of a Culture" requires a sort of 'leisure class' having time to reflect on the meaning of life. Which means that their system has matured into a society where an average member is capable of supporting life for more than himself.

On the other hand, how significant is it that Polynesians 'evolved the designs of their seagoing canoes? It's natural selection, is it not?

Those who need this explained..sigh.. need to understand the designers 'paddled their own canoes'. If the design was good, the designer came back to build another one.

And I'm sorry.. but I dont get why this is 'controversial'
