Crew's Herron suspended for 4 games

    In news that comes as not-news to Crew fans .. or anyone who saw the NE game on ESPN2.. Andy Herron has been suspended and fined for intentionally elbowing Heaps, the only uncertainty being whether he meant to elbow him in the face.

    In the same session, MLS sanctioned Shalrie Joseph, fined $500, for putting a hand to Herron's face after the injury.

    According to those who have watched the incidents leading up to the infraction, Heaps had continually harrassed and fouled Herron without infractions being called.

    For Crew fans, this is an appropriate sentence. NE fans, however are disappointed Herron wasnt boiled in oil for attacking their little angel... or at least waterboarded.

    Any word on what Mathis will get for his straight red? I must admit, I saw the foul about a half-dozen times and didn't even see a yellow card offense. I'm no Clint Mathis defender, but WTF?

    Those who watched this match at the Meadowlands: did we watching on TV miss something?

    Mmm.. not familiar with it. But:

    1. It's RedBulls...MLS SuperTeam #2

    2. It's Mathis and something like that could damage his fragile psyche and set back his rehab YEARS.

    So... I wouldnt expect much.
