    On ESPN2 tonight.. 7 ET

It'll be like the old days when DC came to town riding the top. And we tried to unhorse them.

Didnt often happen, but that was before:

    Evidently not.

Chad Marshall and Robbie Rogers will be at the Gold Cup match.

Yeh.. that was pretty much a crap match for the Crew. Lucky DC didnt get all three points. I will gladly settle for the draw from that.

Iro pairs well with Chad Marshall's guidance, Brunner can do very well with Chad or O'Rourke but he doesnt have the experience to shepherd Iro around.
Plus DC is playing better than they have in years.

Also Ekpo seems to hate playing on the left.

Here's a question for 'fog, Jux, and anyone else that follow the Crew closely. Isn't it a bit weird that GBS leads the league in goals but isn't in the top 5 in assists? I know you've got a nice unbeaten string going, but don't you think there'd be more wins and fewer draws in that stretch if GBS was doing what God intended and setting the table for the other strikers?

    Inquiring minds.

Simple, looking back from this point

Rogers and Hejduk missing due to injury and off-form when they come back... this caused GBS to change his attacking position and set himself up field more than last season
Also Gaven and other mids not crashing the goal as well. Dunno if this is due to coaching differences or not but it aint happening.

Upside: Aint it great that GBS has the vision to be able to compensate.

PS GBS sure looked sour going off field after the DC game, didnt he? He wasnt a happy camper with the way they played.

I agree with Fog that injuries and people around him just now rounding into form have a lot to do with GBS having a lower assist total. Rogers and Marshall missed much of the opening part of the season and both are just now starting to round into form. Hejduk has also missed multiple matches due to injury and WC qualifying. Rogers and Hejduk's ability to stretch the field last year gave GBS a lot of room to work and Marshall was stellar on set pieces. It will be interesting to see if they can put it all back together at the end of this season.

His higher goal tally is two fold from my perspective. One, he has played closer to the goal and the ball has bounced kindly for him several times putting him in great positions to score. Two, he has hit the crossbar less than he did last season. He had a superb season last year but it could have been even better if he hadn't hit the woodwork more than a poor trim carpenter.
