My amazing girlfriend has bought us tickets to the Cottage for the Blackburn match on January 28th, a Saturday Afternoon. Im very surprised and officially stoked. Any advice on a trip to the Cottage?

Make sure you schedule a tour of the ground. It's a COMPLETE tour and well worth it -- takes about two hours. Let people know you're coming for a match. Announcing it on the FulhamUSA Facebook page will get the attention of several friendly Brits who'll have information about good pre- and post-game pubs.

Oh, and because match days can change at the whim of Sky TV, make sure you're in London Friday thru Monday so that if it DOES change, you can still go.

Allow a little extra time on the front end of your visit to filter through the team store. It's small, and it kind of snakes in one side of the store in the Haynes Stand exterior off of Stevenage Road and out the other. It's a bit of a zoo, but everyone's in good humor, there's not a lot of pushing and shoving, it's just a lot of people in a small space. Take extra money. You'll buy stuff you hadn't planned on that looks more appetizing than it did on the website shop. I bought an adidas warm up jacket that I wear regularly this time of year that I love that I would NOT have purchased off the website.

To piggyback on this, there is a chance I'm going to London in March, but I'm not optimistic that my flight schedule will allow me to see the match vs. Wolverhampton. Are the tours available during the week when there isn't a game?

Looks like I'll be in London for the Wolverhampton match in March. Hopefully they don't get any TV coverage because I have a narrow window of opportunity! How much advanced warning to they normally give about TV coverage? I looked and the recent Friday night Brentford match was announced back in August. Just wondering if I should wait or not before booking. It doesn't seem like we've been selling out recently, so I imagine I could wait until pretty late. One other question, does one stand, Riverside or Johnny Haynes, have any particular advantages over the other? Better view? More protection from rain?

JH is covered, but there are obscured vision seats. I did the Riverside and was very happy.

As for when? Generally there are a couple of months at least. I always advise people to be prepared to be in London over the entire weekend so that whether the match is on Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday, you're there.
There's plenty to do in London when you're not at the Cottage.

Oh, and by all means, do the tour.

agreed with HD. take the tour!!! We sat in Hammersmith end for the Chelsea match and it was great. Riverside would be better seats, but the more "active" fans were in Hammersmith. Have fun MM
