I'm hoping for some advice from those familiar with going to Fulham games. We are going to vacation in England this year and could come in April for our kids' spring break or in mid august. Which do you think would be better for taking in a match at the cottage? Will the crowds at the cottage be different if Fulham is or isnt in a relegation battle? How soon is the schedule for next season likely to be available? Any advice much appreciated. Thanks

The schedule for next season won't be available until after April, in any case, because they can't make it until they know who's getting relegated and who's getting promoted.

One thing that you may want to keep in mind is that August is peak travel season and will probably have the most expensive air fare of the year.

I would say April...definite matches, improving weather, and some good airfare/hotel deals so I would vote for April.

Regardless of the position of Fulham, there will be a good atmosphere. Being in a relegation battle, as much as I hope we avoid it, does bring out some really great atmosphere at Craven Cottage.

With exchange rate for the pound at the moment I'm not sure you should be jealous. But we've got to go now while our boys still enjoy being with us and with each other. They may get a little surly in a year or two. Hope you have a good time in Brazil.

Thanks for the advice guys. I'm leaning towards April, but mostly because I think a Fulham match will be a highlight of our trip. My hubby wants August despite the higher prices. Is the beginning of the season always the same week in August or does it vary?

    Hi Mo,

I love April, the weather alternates between wet and windy to clear spring mornings. I think London looks its best as the new year starts to shine over the city.

Either way I am sure you will have a fantastic time.

The fixture list usually comes out at the end of June. If we are relegated (which I don't believe for a moment) then the crowds will probably be down a little on numbers, but will not affect the atmosphere too much.
