Don't think it helps the US that Guatemala lost to Jamaica last night. They will have to get a win against us at home.

Looks like Torres has a bad bone bruise, which is preferable to broken or torn anything. Making the trip to Guatemala. Yay!

I was just about to post a news link to it. Definitely good news, plus I wouldn't be shocked to see F. Johnson available if he just suffered a mild strained calf and he was running around on Thursday.

From reports Guatemala didn't really show well against Jamaica, let's hope their poor form continues.

Let's hope the US finds some offensive rhythm.

Watched the majority of the first half of the Mexico-El Salvador match (0-0 in a very feisty affair so far). The smaller countries in central America hate the Mexicans as much or more than they hate us. Every corner kick for El Tri was greeted w/water bottles, bags of 'liquid', and those little hand held lasers. Throw in a crap pitch and a typical Concacaf is ensuing.

Group standings after last night's games. Kinda like that Canada and Panama are ahead in Group C; hopefully, that trend continues. It's going to be a tough 4th qualifying round.

I'm more than happy to see Jamaica in a position to advance over Guatemala and Canada & Panama over Honduras. Shame there's no prayer of the punch drinkers knocking out El Tri or Costa Rica.

Just got tickets in the American Outlaws section for the WCQ in Columbus against Jamaica.

I've never been to a US match before so I'm pretty excited! :banana-dance:

Canada has to go to Honduras and get a draw to advance.

Costa Rica beat El Salvador and now just needs to beat Guyana at home.

Losing to Honduras at their place is nothing to be ashamed of, but getting destroyed 8-1 is a certifiable disaster. Losing by 7 goals Canada? Really??

No surprises (Reggae Boyz perhaps a mild one) as the cream rose to the top. Mexico, Costa Rica, Panama, Honduras, US, and Jamaica. Guatemala had to be worried when looking at the schedule and the final game was Jamaica hosting A&B and they were here.

If Jamaica could convince Jr. Hoilett to play for them they could be quite a team.

That Canada result, wow. Not sure I have any right to be frustrated with Klinsmann in comparison to that.

Of course you could, Ms. Maureen

Hoilett must be holding out for England. He's certainly not been any help to Canada.

Had to dig to find this, but now that the US and Costa RIca are in, the final spot is Honduras' to lose (and blowing the lead TWICE to Panama last night has given a life line to Panama and dare I say Mexico  )

    Standings & Fixtures:

US - 16 pts. H Jamaica, A Panama. Will be interesting to see the squad called up for these two.

Costa Rica - 15 pts. A Honduras, H Mexico. Has to be a big relief to the Ticos that they are already in with these two fixtures. Will it be a full strength side for the final match and a possible chance to force El Tri to a playoff or completely out?

Honduras - 11 pts. H Costa Rica, A Jamaica. Glory at Azteca, but some of it undone by two great goals by Panama's Torres. 4 points guarantees them a trip to Brazil. Can they handle the pressure?

Panama - 8 pts. A Mexico, H US. These guys are a plucky bunch (don't forget Torres did not play v the US up here). However, have to be kicking themselves that they only managed a draw v Jamaica last week. They have the edge tie-breaker wise (goals scored) over Mexico. A result at Azteca a year ago would have been unthinkable, but 3 draws and 1 loss later by Mexico and Panama won't be intimidated going there.

Mexico - 8 pts. H Panama, A Costa Rica. Still capable of winning the last two matches. A new coach will be coming in again. First order of business is to get Carlos Vela back into the squad. It really hurts them that Chicharito is nailed to the bench at Old Trafford. Beat Panama and a playoff against New Zealand more than likely awaits.

Jamaica - 4 pts. A US, H Honduras. Sorry Honduras, but the Raggae Boyz have been playing with a lot of pride, as evidenced by their two draws this past week. They will not just roll over at home that last day.
