Fulham will play host to Lincoln City on Wednesday in the 2nd round of the Carling Cup. Fulham made a run to the quarterfinals last season before being defeated by Chelsea in a good match at the Cottage.

While I do want to see a strong lineup, I would like to see players like Collins John, Ahmad Elrich and Heidar Helguson getting some time on the pitch from the start of the game to see what they can do.

What are your thoughts on this game and the Carling Cup in general? We have to take this competition seriously as it is a possible route to get to Europe next season.

I agree with everything you say Tom.
We must take this competition seriously as it is our best chance of getting into Europe and losing this early on would not be good enough.
I think we can go a long way in this cup and already a few upsets including Tottenham losing so they are out.
I would also like to see Elrich and Helguson given a chance and although I am annoyed at john at the moment want to see him get a start. I also would like to see Batista and Christanval in the team. Rosenior will also come in too but I hear Diop, jensen x2 and Warner will not be risked.
I would like this to be the team-
    Batista
    Rosenior, Christanval, Boca, Green
    Elrich, Steed, Rehman, Timlin
    John, Helguson
(doubt steed will be played though)

I predict 3-0 to us with HH and Timlin scoring

Volz comes in in the 81st minute, scores an own goal in the 82nd minute. Great move. Volz usually takes 3-5 minutes to screw up--he was ahead of schedule tonight. :)

Now they have to put in the first team strikers. Arrrgh!

Freakin' Volz. Own goal less than a minute after he comes on.

If we lose this match I will be so disappointed. Up 2 goals on a second league team at home is usually a sure win. But, for some reason, Fulham have pissed away 2 goals in the second half. The boys better get it together in a hurry. A loss would be embarassing.

Any outcome is embarassing now, once they've blown a two-goal lead to a D2 side. They don't need a replay with injuries starting to impact the team.

No replays in the Carling Cup. All matches play extra time. Radzinski just scored one and now we are up 4-2.

wait, they're playing extra time? I thought if they had a draw they'd replay. These damn tournaments confuse me sometimes.

FA Cup has replays. Carling Cup matches do not.
