Here is a sampling from a classy Rovers board about Murphy http://www.brfcs.com/mb/index.php/topic ... phy/page-5 The responses to a Fulham fan halfway down on the page pretty much sums up the entire thread over there..ouch.

We offered one year, they offered two, so off he went, but he underestimated the hornets' nest he was going into. He was going to be perceived as one of Steve Kean's boys no matter how he played, and it was compounded that he apparently played poorly.

Would certainly welcome him back as part of the coaching staff, and would not be shocked if ala Paul Scholes he comes back in a pinch if hit hard by injuries after a window closes.

I don't understand hating on a player (who they got on a free, mind you) who was a little late in coming to realize when to hang up his boots. As for returning to Fulham, we haven't looked the same since Ray Lew left so maybe a Murph return would bring some of that back? I'm not putting a lot of stock in this rumor though. I just don't see it with Jol at the helm.
