    RE: Re: Bye Bye Ronaldo?

Not too broken up about Ronaldo leaving the prem. His antics were tiresome and boring, but he was the most impressive player in the league over the past 2 or 3 seasons. Few in the game today have abilities on the same level as his.

Real is leaving little to chance for next season. $223 million in transfer fees for two players. Wowsers...

I'm looking forward to his actually signing with Real. For the last 15 months, the lead story on Sky Sports News at least twice a week has been Ronaldo's Staying, Ronaldo's Leaving, etch.

    Please, just go, Christina.

This just in, United WON'T win the Prem next season.

    Little tid bit here...

Both Ronaldo and Kaka's weekly salaries are the equivalent to what Landon Donovan makes in an entire season. That's a striking difference between soccer in America and football across the pond.

I can't imagine what it must be like to root for a team that breaks the world transfer record twice in the same week!!!!!!

    Haha, true. Oh so true.

Just pointing out what is deemed the US' cream of the crop and Europe's cream of the crop. Food for thought.

Funny, a quarter of a billion dollars spent on midfielders that don't play defense.

And not addressing the leaky back four that let in 52 goals last season?

This just in, Real WON'T win La Liga next season.

My thoughts exactly Tim, the galactico era apparently inolves disengaging some brain synapses.

I dunno, maybe they're planning on winning every game 8 to 6.

It's been reported that Real Madrid is ready to submit a transfer proposal to the tune of 37 million euros for David Villa of Valencia.

That would bring the total up to $276 million in transfer fees for Kaka, Ronaldo and Villa. Never ceases to amaze me...

They told CCCFC no for Valencia. Again, what about defense for Real Madrid? If I'm a Barca fan, I'm not so bothered by this week. Unless all those Euros can buy a time machine for Cannavaro.

    Some more perspective:

Ronaldo's 80 million euro deal is worth over 2 trillion vietnamese dong.

    Just sayin...

    Heehee... "dong".

The Spanish leagues have automatic release fees (like the one under which Bullard was brought to Fulham) in all player contracts, so if Madrid (or Chelsea) were to throw enough money at Villa, Valencia wouldn't have a choice in the matter.

You could buy 75% of Newcastle United with Ronaldo's transfer fee.
