He scored in the friendly against Milan today; it's great that he featured in the squad, let alone play.

That said, why isn't he playing? He hasn't been injured (at least publicly acknowledged) for months and yet he rarely gets a spot in the squad, and never features.

Rumors of transfers were abound - even to MLS, but he's still in Glasgow. Has he lost a step and needs to return to MLS? Or can he still perform in Europe?

Personally, I'd like to see him move in the summer because I think he can still provide for the USMNT.

I don't know your answers, but Maruice Edu assisted on that goal as well.

I believe that Beasley was picked up primarily for European opponents. His size and style do not fit well into the very physical style of the SPL, but he is proven at the European level and provides Rangers with an added dimension for those games.

With Rangers out of Europe this year, Beas is out in the cold, though it doesn't surprise me that he featured in the Milan game.

I read someplace, I think it was Ives, yesterday that transfers to the MLS are governed by the MLS window and not the European transfer window. Since the MLS window is still open players like Convey or Beasley could still be transferred to MLS.

That sounds right - if I'm not mistaken transfer windows govern when clubs can transfer players in, not when they can transfer them out.

Schalke tried to get him during the transfer window, but couldn't do it in time... so he still must have it. He's just been off the pitch a while. He'll be fine.

Saw the highlights on FSR and Smith jumped into the tackle two- footed, studs up.

Edu played as well and missed a sitter in the box when he lost his footing.

I read that Beasley will only miss one game. Sounds as if Rangers are pissed though. Their medical people say that Beas' leg might have been broken if his foot was on the ground.

I said in another thread somewhere that I think he's best suited as a left winger, not a left back and I stand by it.

He was basically picked up to help them in Europe, but the punted out of it in record time this season. He is a poor fit to the SPL. I think we might have taken a shot at him when they did. They got him for under a million. We could have had him for 0.8m quid -- worth it to get a pacey left winger. He did okay with City, but I think the injuries have slowed him down.

    Worth a read

Well I guess I should have just copied the whole thing.

And like Barry said back in Feb. there are still plenty o' rumours of him returning to MLS

Beasley is pure class. Here's to a full return (and then some) to his old form.

OK, Mo, you got me. One more last chance for DMB.

Your move, Beas, make something beautiful happen.

Amen to that Steve. And while I'm not particularly religous, can we all just say a prayer for our little broken winger? If only uncle Woy could help him.

A healthy and in form Beasley gives the US an option on the wing that no other regular call-up can right now so here it to a productive year for DMB.

Mo, I've only met one person in my life who believes in me as wholeheartedly as you believe in Brian Ching and DeMarcus Beasley. I've been married to her for more than 32 years now.

I'm with Steve! COME ON THE BEAS!

[hey, he IS a left winger!]

There is that too. Don's just a sucker for a left-footed winger.
