A storied club with a long and rich tradition. Sad to see them slip from form. It wasn't that long ago they were fighting to get into the top four. Hopefully the new owners will be in place to help them get the players necessary to rebuild.

Is the last line a bit of a condemnation???

    Cheers,

He paid 62 million 8 years ago, is asking for 200 million,"put in" 300 million during his tenure, but was it his 300 or the clubs'?

Aston Villa does have a rich history, but most of that is from the 90's....the 1890's  (5 of their 7 1st division titles were from 1893-1900, thank you wiki). Unfortunately for Villa supporters the 1980-82 era where they last won the league and European Cup no longer exists. With a stadium that sits a shade below 43K and a city where the worlds best players aren't exactly dreaming of moving to, they better get a billionaire who wants to win more than turn a profit if they ever want to compete against the Big Boys.

As for Paul Lambert and his "incredible achievement". He sounds like Sanchez when Fulham won 1 game out of the 7 he was in charge and bragged about how he saved us from relegation. Lambert sounds like he is already looking pumping up his resume for his next gig.

I believe it was his own money, or should I say his daddy's, that he was pissing away for Aston Villa when he could've invested in soccer in his own hometown.. Sorry but you know how I get about these things.
