Anti-Virus/Spyware/Firewall

    Getting a new laptop and after I take the McAfee off of it, what should be going on it?

    AVG is highly recommended for Anti-Virus and SpyBot S&D for Spyware. Any good free firewalls? I had Zone Labs' recommended.

    Anyone using anything else they prefer?

    Pretty much how I see it. I dont have a software FW but heard good things about Zonelabs.

    Only complaint on AVG is it's a resource hog, esp on startup but if you got plenty RAM and processor speed, it's okay. My son says Avast is better.

    My geek tells me that AVG is just fine for what ails you, but DON'T BUY THE UPGRADE. The basic, free AVG is evidently superior. He also says that Norton does little and eats a ton of space.
