i gotta admit, if i told you a year ago that i would be intently following an epl team i'd probably think you were nuts. but whatever, life is crazy like that. i started rooting for fulham this past summer after (finally) getting into the world cup and the soccer, ahem, football culture. i read an article by bill simmons where he picked an epl team, and although he barely mentioned fulham i then knew it was my team. (brian mcbride AND hugh grant? whats not to like!) i was fortunate enough to visit the cottage when i was in london for a week in october, and saw them defeat charlton. i am currently studying in denmark, so i found it fitting that Jensen and McBride scored. I also really enjoyed the stadium's old feel, and the non-hooligan fans (well, the ones near me weren't rabid - although one had a disdain for diop). so yea, i just joined this site and thought i'd introduce myself. i'm so glad to find some community for fulham, as most people either know of ManU, or Chelsea (or here in Copenhagen, FCK). I just hope this amazing season continues.
Welcome aboard Timmy! We are all glad you found the site. There are newer Fulham supporters and people who have followed the Whited for decades on this site. If you have any questions, let us know. Cheers!
Actually, you'll have to settle for one location. Several folks from the Baltimore area on the site, but not sure if there's anybody else from Copenhagen. Welcome aboard & COYW!!!!
Welcome to the site Timmy. There are plenty of fans that started out the way you did...just searching for a team and then finding something to identify with, ie, history, American players, non-hooligan element, stadium on the Thames...etc. Enjoy the site and come around often...
Welcome to the site Timmy, most of the people on this site including myself chose Fulham because of the yank connection and because their not Man U, Arsenal or Chelsea.
