He concedes that he probably won't see the pitch anytime soon and I won't be surprised if he demands a transfer or is sold in the January window.

And I don't think there's any love lost between ol' Woy and Demps.

    Sounds really frustrated. That's disappointing.

    dempsey, the man!

Okay, I'm pacing myself as far as the proposal writing goes.

I like this article about Demps in Sunday's match V the scum

    http://www.goal.com/en/news/752/fulham/ ... high-point

    particularly,

this does call for some celebrating. especially amongst us die-hard US MNT fans who love them for many of the same reasons we love Fulham

    RE: dempsey, the man!

I'm stoked to see my initial post as potentially irrelevant. He's earned his place and Dempsey is a horse right now - and I'm totally blown-away by FFC's single-digit place in the table at the mid-point!!

    Thanks for the article, Mo.

I got bored tonight with the photoshop and did this little altering to a Dempsey photo from this past weekend.

Great picture of Dempsey but even in black and white Cech's kit is still annoyingly neon.

It's that "too cool for school" brain bucket that gets my knickers in a twist.

ESPN's two part interview with Dempsey:

Part I - Time with Fulham

Part II - Playing for the USMNT

Barry, thanks for posting those. I really enjoyed reading them.

Looks like Fulham got themselves another decent, hardworking American footballer.

    My favorite part:

He may change his mind about this but it is very decent of him to think that way

    Is it? Seems to me it's a manifestation of his still-immature thinking process. {TGFSF, he isnt still torturing us with his 'music'...}

What does that say about McBride? What if playing with CD as core of team inspires and teaches that kid coming up?

You think Robbie Rogers thinks the same about playing with Schellotto?
"HE should retire and let a young player learn the ropes as playmaker!"

No... there's another side to that coin, Dempsey should aspire to be that sort of teaching player that makes everyone else on his team better.

How is that immature? And can't he do the same thing with the USMNT? You don't see people encouraging older MLB players to AAA ball or NFL players to the defunct arena league.

That's exactly why I said "he may chang his mind". I would rather that he does. However, it's nice he wants others to the experience that he has had.

Well, our "only good enough for a Premier League Squad Player" is having quite a nice run for himself. Or am I just deluding myself that what he's doing on the pitch is quality?

McBride critique by Fulham fans, circa 2004:

"Squad player...Lacks pace. Not good foot on ball skills."

Bonus trivia point for future reference:

"Name the only MLS to Prem transfer to play every minute of the first five games in his new shirt."

Thanks for the historical frame of reference.

I'm opting out of the trivia question, since I remember when you posted it most recently.

Don: That's why I said for FUTURE reference... two years from now no one will remember it. Not too likely to be broken, either, unless its on a newly promoted team.

    Mo: Two things.
The Palermo to MLS thread.. in which this issue is debated.

Also... say Friedel retires from Villa then signs a contract with the Crew for say.. 100K as a 'backup' keeper/coach?
    {That's what I would shoot for if I were Crew FO}

Ironically, that tool Bretos was naming his American Club Player of the Year on FSR last night and ruled out Dempsey "because he didn't score enough goals".

I appreciate the link, Nev -- especially the information about Jemal Johnson. I couldn't understand why he wasn't playing, since he'd been doing well for several months. It seems as if MK Dons cut of their collective nose to spite their face. They benched their best playmaker because he didn't want to re-up, and lost in the playoffs.

Here's hoping he's in the CCC next season at least.
