Will standard definition televisions be able to process the signal? I have read that converter boxes will be available but I wonder if it will make more sense to just buy an HDTV (they are getting cheaper by the day). However, maybe the prices will go up once the deadline hits. Any ideas?

It will be just like Sat or Cable digital.. needs a converter but you'll see 480p broadcasts just fine with a converter box.
It only applies to content you get from an antenna. If you already have sat or digital cable, you wont need anything new, but check with cable provider in case.

yeah, I dont think that this will affect anyone that gets cable or satellite. However, it is a good excuse to get an HDTV.
