Right about the time Fulham were drawing with Middlesborough, I was watching a match in Prague between Sparta Praha and Viktoria Pilzen. Definitely not near Premiership quality, but well worth going to and dirt cheap (and you can take your beer to your seat). I've now seen top flight division football in 5 different countries.

Wore my Fulham scarf and that helped tee off a couple of discussions with the locals . Everyone was very interested in the club (I don't think anyone knew them). Had to catch Fulham updates via b berry.

My wife and daughter are still in Houston so I took advantage of another solo weekend and flew to Prague Friday morning.

Freaking great city with some awesome beers. I would recommend Prague to anyone, hands down.

The Gambinus Liga. Those are my two Czech teams!

Plzen because as best I can tell, that is probably close to where the "Franek" family name and ancestors comes from. Sparta because you can actually watch them play televised every now and then, and they go to Europe fairly consistently. Not to mention, Danubian football (and all of football history) has its roots firmly established in the history of Praha.
