Who’s on deck for the next sack?
My money’s on “Super” Frankie Lampard at Everton. They escaped with their lives last season, barely escaping relegation. With a brand new state of the art 53,000 seat stadium rising at the Bramall-Moore Dock on the Mersey, they can ill afford (literally) to end up in the second tier. How many of those new seats be occupied for matches in the Champuonship?
Brendan Rodgers still might beat Lampard to the exit. Leicester are not improving enough to be a fair bet to escape the drop, and Rodgers appears to have overstayed his welcome.
David Moyes is not too far behind these two. West Ham is trending downward again after a couple of recent encouraging campaigns, and the Scot is in an up and down cycle, wash, rinse, repeat, that could portend his departure.

There are a couple of names that have begun to warrant consideration for inclusion in the sacking pool discussion, and they’re both at big London clubs. First is Antonio Conte at Tottenham. Spurs have been, at best, pedestrian under the Italian, at worst, drawing or losing to teams they should not be at home. And at their new palace of a home, that’s definitely not going to fly. Conte’s had what most would consider adequate time to make Spurs more consistent: still, they are fifth in the table. But the performances have soured, and the Kane-Son magic has hit the skids. Losing at home 2-nil to an improved but average Villa side shouldn’t be happening.
Graham Potter has not lit a fire under scum off of the usual shot from a manager change. They look worse than Spurs. Scum’s new owners aren’t quick triggers like Abramovich was, but they screwed up tossing Thomas Tuchel so prematurely. They’re worse under Potter.

Unfortunately Jesse Marsch is moving up the list. Leeds are 0-3-4 in their last seven and are hurtling toward the relegation zone. In fact, they’re tied with Everton on points (18) and are above the Toffees on goal difference (-8 to -12).
Wouldn’t be all bad though. U.S. Soccer could put the Berhalter mess to bed and hire Marsch to get us ready for the big show here in just over three years. But…Leeds, although only down a goal to nil, showed no ability to muster a last ditch assault on the Forest goal today down the stretch. In fact, they could barely keep adequate possession to even begin to try to salvage a much needed point. I don’t recall Keylor Navas having to make any saves in the last 20 minutes or so. Leeds had 71% possession and 4 shots on goal to Forest’s two…yeah. Not good.

 

I will be honest and say even though it is awesome that our talented Americans in Adams, BA,and McKennie are getting a shot in the Prem, I wish with every fiber in my being that they played for another club than Leeds; from my experience they are a bunch of arrogant losers who yes might love their team, but also are despised by basically everyone else.

And yes to your point, I am quite sure a fair majority of their fans do not like the American takeover if you will at all and some I am sure still sleep every night with ther Bielsa dolls.

I want the American trio and even Marsch to do alright so as to to stop any Yank bashing from their fans, but hope Leeds themselves collapse.

I think Jesse will get a bit more time, but again with their fans, won't take long before the pitch forks come out either.

 

My thoughts too. I'm still bitter about how they treated Lucas Piazon when he broke his foot there back in 2017. I want to root against them but all those US players on the roster make it harder!

 

I agree with everyone, but they need to start winning, not just getting a result, soon, or they’ll likely act. It’s not enough to play solid football in this league. Eventually you have to get points…plural…or you’re going down.

We can only hope that his successor rates the USMNT guys and continues to play them.

 

Jesse sacked. Leeds hadn’t won a Prem match since early Nov. They played for him, but this is a results business. Watched them yesterday, absolutely dominated the first half and found themselves down 1-0. They were dreadful going forward in last 45, a draw and the thin ice would likely still be holding. Only David Moyes at West Ham has survived at one of those bottom 6 teams.

As far as the contingent of players. Adams (ironically his poor clearance cost them yesterday) will still be one of the first names written on the starting lineup card. Aaronson is going to have to take advantage when he gets on the pitch, he hasn’t scored or assisted since early in the season. Weston was awful in the 30 minutes he played. He better get up to speed double time, or he’ll certainly be sent back to Juve (I think his buy option is 33 mill).

 

And in fine, well thought out management strategy, not having lined up a valid successor, the club is going with a no name threesome of assistant coaches to helm Wednesday night’s visit to (gulp) Old Trafford. Marcus Rashford will be depressed if he doesn’t bag a hat trick.

Leeds is a toxic club. I agree with whoever said that it would have been better if adams, McKennie, and Aaronson played for a different club. Even if that's Brentford.

McKennie must feel like the rug had been pulled out from under him now. I had a situation like this at work once when the person who recruited me for a job got pushed out two weeks later. I didn't last there much longer, either.

My money is now on Leeds getting relegated and the three Americans looking for work elsewhere come summer.

 

Not only will they be relegated, all three Yanks will be playing elsewhere next season. Let’s hope they land in better places and get mondo playing time. Perhaps one of them will make his way to the Whites.

 

No way any of them will play for Leeds in the Championship.Any of them could fit in here, but even if not here, hope they go to a more likeable club if you will and get playing time.
