Ok, we couldn't even start the thread before the first victim (ok, mutual consent). So, who's next?

    Big Sam?

The obvious choices would be any of the new boys. Historically, they are most likely to struggle early, panic and sack their manager. However, I think Redknapp is in like Flynn with QPR's ownership and the other two clubs seem rather fond of their managers. I'm a big fan of Pearson at Leicester who I've championed on here for Fulham in the past.

Poyet is goofier than a pet coon, so he's got to be on the list. You can't ever rule Chelsea out with their history and Murinho has made some odd decisions during this stint. Obviously Big Sam is loathed by the West Ham fanbase. Alan Pardew is another who has had a rocky ride at Newcastle although I'd argue his struggles have been more Ashley's fault. As long as Ashley owns Newcastle their manager has to be a strong contender for the sack.

But my bet is Alan Irvine of WBA. Most were shocked he was even a candidate for a Premier League job. The Baggies have been quick to pull the trigger recently, with Irvine serving as their third manager in the last year, and I fully expect them to struggle this season. A slow start will only serve as confirmation that hiring him was a mistake.

Matt, you're probably right about Irvine.

Can't also forget Dyche at Burnley, who will not be helped by the fact his squad is atrocious for the EPL. They'll probably finish 20th.

That said, anyone else feel somewhat...relieved there's no specific reason to follow the EPL this season? Don't think I'm missing out on much.

This is where our paths diverge I guess. I like the EPL and will continue to watch it. I just won't have a specific team to support so I'll have greater flexibility in selecting matches to watch on the weeks that Fulham aren't on live tv.

I'll watch, but only one or two a weekend as opposed to my usual 5-8. I still like the football played at Liverpool and Arsenal, and I'll continue to watch Sunderland as long as Jozy is involved.

Not going to count Mr. Pulis then, eh?
O.K., I'll go with The Chosen One at scum. Lampard's gone, Terry's almost gone, Courtois looks set to oust Cech, and he's gotten the strikers he wanted. Add the crazy Russian that owns them and you've got....ANARCHY! Jose Mourinho.

Tells you how much I've been paying attention this early in the season...Tony Pulis resigned before the campaign started? Things must be a mess at Palace since the guy they just hired for the full time gig is Neil Warnock......HAHAHA. He won't be the next guy sacked but the coo coo for cocoa puffs Warnock should lead CP straight into the relegation zone.

Aston Villa has started the season well, but a couple poor results and Paul Lambert is on the proverbial edge. There can't be any other reason than that stupid contract extension Mike Ashley gave him (where is the clip of Ashley chugging a beer in the owner's booth?) for Alan Pardew still being in charge at Newcastle.

Warnock is one of those hedge hires. He's brought on b/c they know there's a good chance they're going down and if so, they already have a manager in place they think can bring them back up. Generally, those guys, with those clubs, don't get fired. If they do, it's usually late in the season.

Van Gaal's odds have to be going up. Maybe Moyes wasn't the problem afterall? Sure, it could be the transition to LVG's style, but I thought their midfield and defense were subpar last year and if anything, they look even worse this year.

    From my usual GENERALIST 20,000 feet. Of course Moyes wasn't the problem, unless you expect a strong personality to come in and get the absolute best from a squad of narcissists. {I mean what could you expect given the ManUre cachet}
For this Geezer, Billy Martin and the Yankees come to mind, or maybe Bill Parcells and the Cowboys.

Cardiff's owner reminds me so much of the early George Steinbrenner and Ted Turner -- you know, before they realized their meddling was costing them money.

Firing Makay was idiotic; this is insane.

Methinks Signor Pochettino has just moved to the top of the list, with Paul Lambert a close second. And if Ron Koeman ain't already Manager of the Year, they shouldn't bother with the award.

I heard the other day that this will only be the first time since around 95 that no manager has gotten the sack before Christmas in the Prem. That is as long as everyone survives the next 60 hours or so
