FYI - NS was shut down last week for under age drinking. I'd check to be sure it's back open before you head down.....

We will have at least one guy reppin' at The Brewhouse...and hopefully I can be there for one second half cider.

Totally gutted after FA Cup and the last few matches...need something to get me geared up for Spring Break!

DAVIES AT RIGHT BACK?!?!?!? According to uefa.com's tactical chart that's where he's lining up!

Nice to see our starting midfield back in place.

What a way to end the game. Can anything be easy with this team? We better get the goal early in next weeks game or it could be a long night.

Caught only the last 10 minutes so can't comment other than it was mission accomplished until the end. Wolfsburg will be feeling good about their chances, but so should Roy's boys. They stepped up away at Shaktar and they can get a draw at Wolfsburg (or even a 3-2 loss).

Disappointing to concede, but overall I am optimistic.

Sure, we had the same scoreline against Shaktar but Wolfsburg are a shadow of the force the Miners were.

Honestly if they could finish I would be concerned, but excluding the goal I don't recall many shots that called for a remarkable save by Schwarzer.

Good match overall, but I wasn't happy with the way the team seemed to shut off after getting the second goal.

All we need to do is draw on the road. Simple enough, conceptually anyway.

the beer at the pub was damn good.

I'd have felt better with the clean sheet, but VW United concede more at home than on the road, so I like our chances of negating that away goal. It will be hard for Hangeland to have as many brain farts as he did today, so I'm liking our chances to go forward to Standard Liege.

Would rather be up 2-1 than be down. I'm happy.

That 10-minute stretch when we scored twice was some dominating football.

We played pretty well though it sucked to give up that late goal. I do like our chances overall in the return leg. I'm loving this Europa League, what a great reason to sneak out of work and drink beer!

This finger (and it ain't the index) is for FSC and their Soccer Report. DVRed the 7 pm version and "We start with Europa League action.." after extended highlights of Liverpool-Benfica & AthMadrid-Valencia what do we get?? The bastards just had the score w/a total of ZERO highlights.

SoCalJoe. The two games they showed highlights for were the two games that were televised on GolTV (likely through Fox owned rights) so were likely all they had. http://www.uefa.com has some highlights.

The game went about as I'd expected. I thought they'd be more dangerous offensively, but as Roy points out, Fulham had a little say in that.

To that end, I'm really becoming a big Aaron Hughes fan. Guy may only be a plumber, but he's the best plumber in town.

I'd read that Wolfsburg were pretty pedestrian defensively, it's the offensive explosion we have to look out for. If the boys can keep the focus and hold form for 90 minutes, I fully expect them to advance to the next round. I do not see us getting shut out by this lot in Deutschland.

I did my job and stayed away.

I think they are now effectively 'drawn' and equal score in the enemy camp entirely feasible.

    Thanks Andy for the link.

Roy in an interview before the game said (in hindsight cryptically) that he would put out his "best 11 players". Clint, Zoltan, and Simon are in that group, so it was quite interesting to see that Davies was at right back. I know he's played some there before, but can somebody who watched the game give a little review on how our Welshman did?
