WOW, WOW, WOW i wish I could have watched but the soccernet coverage was good enough considering the announcer seemed pro fulham.

Please post a torrent if anyone has one and congrats to dempsy for the cheeky finnish. At least that will be on footytube in about 3 hours.

Now I hope we can put ourselves back together and get 3 points from city on Sunday. COYW's!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, SoCalJoe and I were in the chat when Trezeguet promptly opened up the scoring- I might've given up all hope if not for Bobby's quick reply. Unbelieveable. Thanks to ClintClintDeuce for hooking me up with a live video feed (got to see Gera's penalty and Dempsey's winner!) and for BBC5 Radio who decided to air the second half (although oddly, not the first). A part of me wishes I would've made the effort to go into Chicago to the Globe to watch it- but it was nice celebrating online with some true Fulham fans.

Unreal. I don't think any of us could've possibly imagined better.

It inspired my following rant elsewhere:
"Un-f'ing-believable. My favorite rapping soccer superstar from Texas strikes again! I care about sports for moments like this. Two years ago, Fulham was so bad they almost got knocked down into a lower league; and today they came from behind to beat one of the best teams in the world and move on to the Quarterfinals in one of the most competitive soccer tournaments in the world. And for that triumph after years of watching mediocre and crappy teams, I feel luckier than any poser who decided to support Manchester United, the New York Yankees or the LA Lakers just because they were successful."

To paraphrase what ESPN said- we've beaten the Cup Holders and the favorites in consecutive rounds- nobody wants to play us right now.

Wonderful, Wonderful goal by Dempsey. Best win of the campaign. There is nothing left to fear. Let's go all out and finish this season with some silverware.

Sitting at a pub at paddington on my way back from the game. What I can say? That was freaking incredible! To have the nads to come back after that first goal.....!!!

The Cottage never gave up. We went nuts after the first goal was conceded and owned them after that. The place was insane I tell you, insane! We hammered them in the second half. Complete domination. That result was well earned and well deserved. I am still at a loss for words. Very grateful as a whites fan to have been able to witness that result. We beat juventus 4 to 1!

Holy holy crap! I cannot WAIT to get home to watch the highlights.

I'm proud to be a Fulham supporter even when we're battling relegation, but days like this are the ones to look forward to.

True class from the Whites, all the way. I'm doing a happy dance in my office (it's better y'all can't see it. It's not for those without cast-iron stomachs).

    COYW!!!!!

Wow! There are days like 2 yrs ago at Pompey, the last 2 ManU matches at the Cottage (to a lesser extent) and today that I'm so thankful I found this sport and THIS football club. The euphoria that comes from watching your club win against all odds is just amazing. In American sports you really only get that feeling when your team wins a title.

So my day starts off with a call from "me mate 'Atter Don" saying he's sick and can't make the pub for the match. Apparantly he ate some dodgy lutefisk with Bjorn Helge and is racked. I almost chucked going in favor of the chatroom and watching online but didn't, b/c the more I thought on it, the more I thought 2-0 could happen.

This year's Duff shirt was dirty (and didn't work last week) so I dust off the 2 3 away strip from the Great Escape season and head out. After a traffic snarl at the zoo, I get to the pub 1 minute into the match, get them to turn a lone tv over to the match (all were on the NCAA tourney) and watch us bungle the clearance and concede 1-0. I'm thinking, "Should have stayed home and done the chat room." But Fulham attacked as aggressively as I can ever remember seeing and Bob leveled shortly thereafter. Once they went down to 10, hope was restored.

The rest is amazing. Chatted with Don briefly around halftime. Was joined by our local Liverpudlian for the final 30 minutes and then watched my fellow East Texan win the damned thing with the cheekiest chip shot you'll see. Then the bartender looks at me and says he'd better get some more Fullers on order since our Thursdays aren't over yet.

For the match, it was brilliant. The Killer Z's ruled the day, Juve lost the plot a bit, and the Cottage (while muted on the tube) looked like an absolute madhouse. And I still can't wipe the shiteating grin off my face. That was fun!!

In another post-game interview with Dempsey, he said it was the loudest he has ever heard the Cottage in his 3+ years.

I couldn't get off work, so I had plans to join the chat room while my student teacher handled the dirty work...then the Internet crashed. Frantic texting ensued...the Dirty Whites were on call and also at work :(. I thought the best way to describe my day would be to share those text messages:

Jacob- "We are so in this 30min in Juve down to ten men!!!!"
Terri- "Whoa! My Internet is down :(!!!"/ "On iPhone in class...teacher of the year"/ "OMG!!! 2-1!!! Thank god for iPhones!"
Jacob- "Omg omg!!! Everyone at work thinks I'm nuts jumping around!!!"
Terri- "I have a student teacher...so I'm trying to contain my excitement lest I interrupt her lesson. I did gasp and cover my mouth in a way that made my kids jump :)"
    Jacob- "Ht!! COYW!"
    Terri- "Crazy!"/ "THREE!!!!!"/ "Now I can't contain myself 8-D!!!"
    Jacob- "Holy shiiiiiit!!!!!"
Chris- "Oh no...there's eight minutes left. This is so Fulhamish but in a great way"
Terri- "Deuce coming on"/ "FOUR!!! I'M STUCK IN SCHOOL TRAFFIC AND CAN'T GETTOTHEPUB!!!"
Jacob- "Ahhhhh can't use words!!!! Ahhhhhh"
Terri- "At pub/ Juve down to 9!!!"
Chris- "haha...Game Over...The good guys win! COYWs!"
Terri- "Yyyyyyaaaaaayyyyyyyy!!!! And Deuce is back!!!"
Jacob- "omg omg omg last 8!!!"

Yep. Pretty freakin' awesome even on text messaging :)!
