So do I. Really, I'd just raid City for the players they don't want. Bellamy and Ireland would be top of the list.

Did Sidwell sign yet? Haven't heard anything on Sky the past couple of days.

Bellamy and Riise together in the same locker room certainly would be interesting.

There's a rumor going around (though I haven't seen a source) that there might be as many as two signings announced at the Hughes press conference tomorrow.

Now that Mark is official, the rumors are starting to fly. I've read today rumors about Santa Cruz, Hleb, Cuducini, Yebda, Utaka, Dusan Pernis, Tom Eaves,

At the press conference, Hughes said the transfer fee and wages would be too high for Bellamy with the budget.

He also said Schwarzer and Konchesky wouldn't be leaving.

Bellamy is a homegrown so I think ManCity may decide he is one of their best home grown eight ( I've read they have 13) or another club may decide to take him on loan as a homegrown. His salary would be pretty steep for Fulham to take him on loan. Too bad. Once Davies chimed in, I was all for it. It will be very interesting to see how the homegrown/25 man roster pans out.

Santa Cruz would be a mistake. We already have one 10m forward who's always injured, we don't need another one.

I'm kinda surprised we haven't signed or are close to signing anybody yet. Only six more days til the season starts and hopefully we can bring in a couple of players before the Bolton match.

Marky Mark has said he won't be rushed. We'll be doing another transfer deadline refresh frenzy like we did with AJ a couple of summer's past.

Of the City folks, the two I'd like to see come to us are Hart and Ireland. Bellamy has the tools, but he IS a tool. Santa Cruz is one of those "if only he could stay healthy." Wright-Phillips would be perfect, but I don't think we have the money for him. He's like Riise, only with speed, quickness, and Premier League-level quality. Last rumor I saw said that the guy who manages Liverpool is after him.

I'll use the criteria of his league play, which is average at best w/wages that suggest he should be a superstar, No thanks.

Rafik Halliche for 2m is likely. He's a centreback and won't play right away so hopefully we found a bargain who can slowly adjust to this league.

Hart please, but not Ireland. I will have to consider boycotting Fulham and their weird jersey if Ireland becomes a white.

I'm willing to admit that I am probably completely ignorant to fact why so many seem to dislike Ireland, but the fact is he is a damn good player and could very easily become Murphy's heir apparent.

He doesn't strike me as a tool of Bellamy-esque proportions, but maybe I'm missing something...

No, you are not missing anything. It is just that some people know even less than you.

saw a random Brad friedel link, saying that he wanted to go to Fulham, and that, along with Milner and Ashley Young, was why O'Neal left Villa. Friedel rubbished those reports this morning, but i'll have to admit, i was excited for a moment. (this would be, of course, assuming Schwarzer was still for the off)

Can SOMETHING get done? heard Gudjohnson was close?

He is a fantastic player but he is a nut case. Several Irish national coaches have had enough difficulty with him that they wont call him up. When one finally did, he lied about two different grandmothers dying (both were still alive) in order to get out of a crucial Euro qualifying match versus the Czechs, he dropped his shorts as a goal celebration, and his current coach has stated that if it wasnt for his attitude he would play more. Instead, Mancini plays thugs like DeJong. Sorry but that's more than enough reason for my tastes to not want him in the black and white.

Ireland is going to Villa anyway, which probably explains the sudden exit of O'Neill
