The latest word is that the club won't announce the results of Monday's evaluation until all the analysis of the data is finished. Best guess for that is Tuesday at the earliest.

The waiting is the hardest part -- thank you Tom Petty.

I think it is worse for Clint than anyone else.

I dont think he could walk off the field if his posterior cruciate ligament was completely torn. I dont think his knee would be stable enough, but I really dont know I'm just trying to use common sense. I'm thinking it is a grade 1 or 2 tear and will just require a few weeks or rest and then physical therapy - no surgery. Just enough time away that Roy will have to bring in reinforcements before the window closes.

I like your optimism, but it doesn't work that way. We'll just have to wait on the scan and hope the boy's a quick healer.

The weird thing with cruciate ligament tears is that everybody recovers differently and at different paces. In short, we won't really know for quite a while.

Like Ag said, everyone is different.

I had a buddy completely tear his ACL in a lacrosse practice in college and he was able to walk off the field on his own and no one thought he messed it up that badly. Then he learned the bad news two days later at the doctor.

I am worried since Roy was already saying ligament damage to the media before they even scanned it.

Ag and Lax you guys are probably right. However, no one has said anything about ACL. All reports have said posterior cruciate ligament and that is way better than ACL. ACL tear is a year - reconstructive surgery.

Still no update...I would think the club would at a minimum say something, as in 'we need more time to evaluate' or 'another scan is required.'

I have had a knee injury - unless clint is some kind of He-Man, that was not a full tear. I say PT for ligament stretch and a slight meniscus repair - 8 weeks.

At least that is my hopeful outlook.

The FFC website is notoriously un-forthcoming about club doings, and -- as timmyg has so eloquently pointed out on so many occasions -- clubs in England don't have "beat reporters" who dig out details and keep their papers appraised, like we do in the States.

Just waiting and holding our collective breath.

that's the word I heard also:

    1. no surgery
    2. rehab begins immediately
    3. Should feature well before the season ends
    4. should be available for World Cup

    THANK you Jeezus!

Good news. With Clint's drive, I doubt fitness will be too much of an issue when he returns. Form could be but I suspect he'll be back ahead of the prognosis.

I was going to say that the WC had a play in the no-surgery option but had to edit my post after reading the FIFA site article. They are saying the MRI showed no tear. I feared that Clint might push for a strengthening type rehab if it was a partial tear. The problem with that is there would still be some instability even with the rehab and bracing. So he would have had potential for further injury of the PCL and even more (other ligaments and meniscus). If there truly is no tear then that is the absolute best possible news.
