Two months without our best player this season (keeper excluded). Here's to a speedy recovery, Mr. Zamora. You'll be missed.

Acquiring depth in the transfer market pretty much became a necessity after this one, or at least I'd think...

Truly a bummer. I feel bad for Bobby. Let's hope that two months is a conservative estimate.

At least we have most of the transfer window left.

it was interesting this morning to peruse Friends of Fulham's excellent daily Fulham news cull. Just below an article headlined "Zamora out for 8 weeks" was an article headlined "Zamora out for 4 weeks."

In a media so dominated by Rupert Murdoch and his clones, it's so much easier just to make shit up than it is to actually check facts.

In any event, get well Bobby Z. It was amazing to watch your long purple patch this season.

If he can return as quickly as AJ did I will be extatic. I think that this may be one of the best things that has happened to us. With his recent form, it was almost a certainty that someone was going to bid for him, and if Roy's predictions would have held true it would have been a bidding war that would have likely taken him away from the cottage. If he comes back and shows to be as in form post injury as he was pre injury and we survive his absence decently (which will be a lot easier if Okaka comes in and AJ clicks again) I will be glad to have not lost him in this transfer window. That being said, Zamora was "out of form" or at least played a less significant role in scoring for most of his time at fulham and only recently discovered his ability to hit the back of the net here and if that is the Bobby Z we get back from injury, I will be sad that we where not able to get a good sum of money for him while he is hot (similar to moving Bullard, although it could not have been foreseen that he would get injured).

A lot of ifs, but it is cold out and I need a little bright side.

My biggest concern here is how much of his form he loses and how long it takes him to get it back.

The good side is that it may force a move in the transfer market up front and it'll give us a spot to find someone to partner with him (or for AJ to get his act together).

I don't buy that he was going anywhere in the market injury or no. I think Roy's comments were more designed to keep boosting his confidence.

You have to think that we'll see a weakened Bobby Z. when he returns. He's always been about physical presence, and during this recent patch, he was purely dominant at that feature of the game. I can't see him bringing to bear all the upper body strength he has been using with a dodgy collarbone. It's criminal that this happened while he was producing the best form of his career. His play in the few recent matches i actually got to see was breathtaking. I don't think we'll see it again this season, and maybe never. More's the pity for us.

Mind you, SuperMac came back from a horrific injury and was Brian McBride from minute one, so you never know.
