May well be. Dont fall for Ives' garbage on Rogers, though. Everyone associated with the Crew, from FO to media, deny that Rogers is an outright free agent. {contract supposedly 2 + 2} Ever since Szetela, Ives has done his best to screw with Columbus. That doesnt mean Rogers will be at Columbus, it means he wont be playing in MLS without money, or players, changing hands. Note that Frankie's unprotected; It's like the FO took the advice of the MB fans. Frankie's gonna either be playing on West Coast or with Columbus and working out like crazy to get his head back in the game. Philly would be crazy to take him because there's a very good chance he'd balk at it. There's a big advantage to being a cozy small market city. Players LOVE Columbus... uh.. except Martino. What's he doing now? heh. And sometimes to their own career detriment, like Duncan Oughton who really SHOULD be playing in A-League. Sighs of relief that Zayner cant be taken because he is the future at RB. Surprising that Padula is exposed. LB's, even journeymen, are hard to come by in every League. HE's been fantastic for us. Danny O'Rourke is the only fill in at LB.. but he plays well everywhere. Lenhart is protected, Ale Moreno is not.
Holden being a protected player makes his future quite interesting. The lad obviously has plenty of upside, but was one of the lowest paid players on the Dynamo last season, raking in just over $30k (!!!). If I were him, I'd either be demanding a new deal or ask to be sold. He deserves better. And I think he'd do well at West Brom.
I think he'd do well at most anywhere. Publisher's Note: There is such a thing as a semi-colon. Use it, Mr. Ives.
What do you think of the semi-colon? Is it a tool that your fifth grade teacher made you use? Or is it another dinosauric punctuation mark? Share your thoughts below.
If you remember, I predicted Holden to be a surprise starter at the World Cup back before Davies injury (I'll have to find the post) and I'm sticking to that. I think Holden will be fine wherever and hopefully whatever he decides, it ends up being a situation where he plays. I love the service he provides from the wing and his ability to back track and defend.
He's a quality young player, and he won't need to jump through hoops to get a UK work permit [his family is English]. I'd like to see him go to a CCC side.
SPL, or straight to Prem, and depending on who smashed his face, both CCC and Prem in one year with Newcastle.
Newcastle would be a rich story...one time Sunderland trainee, is physically attacked and loses his window, only to work his way out of MLS and transfer to the barcodes, where he torments Wearside and demonstrates to Sunderland what might have been... Damn, I wish I could blame my ramblings on too much day-time tv...
I thought I read that Holden's family is Scottish, not English, for what it's worth. (Not much in terms of his eligibility to get a work permit; a whole lot, if you were to say it to their faces!) I am a fan of the semicolon.
MLS: Philly exp draft MLSNet Not too surprised Philly picked up Ale Moreno, that's why the Crew protected Lenhart.. he was almost a shoo-in if he'd been available. And Ale's the starter. We Crewfans love Ale, almost as much as we love Frankie but, as one guy said on BS: "I'll stand and clap for him on the intro, and boo like hell when he dives.." Good to see Migs get the nod, too. That is two of the '08 MLS champs Philly gets to start with.
RE: MLS: Philly exp draft Damn..... they chose the one player I hoped wouldn't get picked the most. I hope Le Toux does well in Philly and gets more playing time.
