Senate vote to debate will pass

    Mary Landrieu stayed bought, says she'll vote yes.

    Blanche Lincoln (AR) apparently wants to live up to her name, she will vote yes too...
    Buh-bye, Blanche! Secretary of Agriculture.. huh!

    Let's see. What's better, debating the bill on the senate floor -- which might actually result in somebody from one of the parties taking the time to read it? -- or just sending doofuses out in front of empty chambers on CSPAN or empty minds on MSNBC/Fox Noise in front of empty heads?

    I especially look forward to the spirited debate on that portion of the bill that guarantees your granny will be killed, not to mention the section that deals with forced abortion and turning your medical records over to Moscow and the UN.

    Over the last 25 years or so the single biggest detriment to running a small or large business in the United States is the costs involved in employee medical insurance coverage. It's what continually busts companies or causes them to move their manufacturing overseas. With this in mind, it would seem to me that the avowed party of free enterprise capitalism would at least ATTEMPT to solve the health care crisis. I have sat here since January waiting for ONE congressional Republican to come up with ONE idea on how to fix this seriously broken system. All I have heard from congressional republicans is fear-mongering, misdirection, and lies.

    I understand how opposition works, but I don't understand why -- in the middle of a world-wide economic crisis, and while we're fighting wars in two locations -- the Republicans have decided that working with the administration to solve ANY problem in the government will NOT happen. In 1994, when the "bi-partisanship with the White House means helping the Democrats succeed" game plan came in, it seemed silly and petty. Now, an entire political party refusing to take part in a government to which they've been elected seems almost criminal.

    I know there are brilliant Republicans in congress. Could just ONE of them look at the health-care bill and say something along the lines of, "You're getting close to the right answer here, but you need to consider this?" It certainly would be comforting to me to think that they're working to try to solve our domestic and international problems rather than just trying to keep them from being discussed on the senate floor.

    That's me for the rest of the month on politics.

    Well.. that's just dumb.

    I could look it up on here.. but I'm pretty sure I never said it would be easy to fix medical costs.
    And I notice you dont have a word to say about such fibs as the health care plan will create jobs and fix the economy. Or 'cost less'

    But here's the thing.. when I raise a singular issue you never have a comment on it. All I see is some dumbass diatribe like that.

    You want to debate one facet.. any one of them.. fine. Otherwise I wont miss you because you dont seem to have any views on the issues anyway.

    They voted yes. The momentum is in the democrats side, let's see if they can keep it. I doubt it though and the public option is probably going to come out as the dems are spineless bastards.

    Which gets the bill a nominal 60 votes, would allow floor debate cloture.

    Meanwhile, far from addressing some GOP objections on cost containment, Tort Reform for malpractice cases actually goes backwards, as the John Edwards faction is rewarded by a clause allowing states to establish their own additional rules for sucking up money from the health system.
    A two-count fail. Of course anyone in the health care system belonging to SEIU will be exempt from lawsuit.

    And the states can continue to insist that they set rules for insurer coverage. I'm not sure exactly how much complying to state rules affects insurer costs but it sure's hell doesnt make it cheaper.

    Now here's Joe Biden's take on it:

    Now there's mortarfire from the left, {Dean doesnt count... no one listens to him} whereJane Hamsher of FireDogLake and Grover Norquist are asking for Investigation of Rahm, for corporate corruption.
    That's just the opening round folks... the Dems who called Tea Party a collection of RedNeck Aryan kooks are going to have a hard time when the lefties start carrying the same signs.

    This bill is a freaking windfall for State Corporatists... those who jumped on board for a subsidized ride.

    I said it a long time ago.. it looks a LOT like National Socialism. Now even the far left gets it.

    - Look at Siemens' advertising. They been there, done that. Now we got GE too.

    Of course, the Govt conspired windfalls are temporary. Then they go out of business because anyone in their right mind will drop their insurance, post haste.. only makes dollars and sense.

    Leaving us.. not ALL of us, doesnt apply to congress.. with -TaDa- Single Payer.

    It's a minor lie. What you wanna bet in four years it will take for this to start, there will STILL be 15,000 uninsured... while the rest of us pay 50% higher premiums for less service. And have been for years before we see anything out of it
